Man...I type this already and don't know what happen...I have the attention span of a house fly so I will try to re-cap.

I'm AJ, I'm a volunteer teacher.
A friend started learing ASL, I was like nope, not interested doesn't appeal to me, no thank you.

I would rather go blind then deaf, still feel that way.
Funny thing is I suffer from noice overload, I constantly hear everything around me and it very hard to tune things out so most times it's like have a sound track with mutiple sounds playing in the background, I would say it drives me crazy but you can't go to somewhere your already standing.

Back to my story...
Then I saw it.
It was like ballet, so graceful and beautiful, the funny thing is it made sense to me instantly. Been at it for 6mnths or so, the passion is still strong, but the mind is weak and feable at times.

So yeah that's me, nice to meet you.

No, I don't have a sign name, it's cool, I like the strange look people give me when I say I don't have one..lol..I get me kick were I can.

That's interesting. I am both, and being deaf never bothered me. I find blindness pretty difficult to adapt to.

Very interesting, not in a disrespectful way but that is like the weridness and coolest thing, talking to you. Please explain how.

I would say the only thing you need to be truly alive is air in you lungs and a brain that tells you just do it.

Your awesome.
Yeah sometimes the world around me makes me so sad I just get tired of looking at it.
The only reason I love my hearing is music, music is the only thing that calms me, the rhythm is always dependable and never changing.

So cool to me you.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Well, you can not wish to become blind if you are going to be deaf or hard of hearing. Visual is important to know what is going on. Helen Keller had very difficult time not seeing when she could not hear. She depended on Anne Sullivan to guide her and to help her what is happening in her dark and silent world. If she had not been blind, then she will use visual better than not to depended on Anne Sullivan so much. So being blind and deaf had some good and bad advantages. But blind and deaf, that is the brute that every person had to cope with and learn to adapt with blind and deaf.

I hope you enjoy reading and posting all the threads here. You will learn a lot about deafness and blindness too. We use our signs but there are some ADers who don't sign. We tried to get along with each other. Everyone is different in their opinion and perspective. So I will see you around here.
