About me, I'm not fat at all, but I'm not the poster child for good health. I eat one meal per diem and it usually isn't very large and sometimes I have some candy after that or just eat a box of Junior Mints. I'm not well informed on what is healthy or even how to be. The weirdest thing is I never feel hunger pains at all. I have gone several days without food before and felt nothing, I'm not sure how or why that is. I could use some advising on health information.

your diet is rediculous, eat 5 lots of fruit and veg a day some can be taken as a juice..going several days without food you not feel hungery because your body is metobolizing chemicals in you muscels your breath will smell like ketons and you will make yourself very ill
you feeling empowed because you feel in control of your body but that not the case so get some help

Fruits and vegetables cost too much, we don't even have food in the house 90% of the time. Is it possible my body has just become accustomed to taking in very little food? I don't drink soda or coffee, I basically just drink those $1 gallon jugs of water from the store and I drink it tepid as I can't stand cold drinks. I don't go days without eating very often, I basically just eat once a day, usually in the evening sometime after 6PM. I had two small tuna sandwiches yesterday and some water. To be specific, albacore tuna from those pouches, yellow mustard, tabasco on kaiser roll bread. I'm lactose intolerant, but I do on occasion enjoy Cabot Habanero cheese, it hurts my stomach, but tastes so good.

Yes your metabolism slows down to protect you in times of starvation. Can you not work more hours to have money for food?

Or visit a food bank where they can give you some food?

I am limited to 8 hours a day and the place I work is only open 4 days a week, so I'm getting all the income I can. I'm still looking for a second job, but the rural hellhole I reside has little jobs open. I don't think we have a food bank around here.

How does one rid themselves of an addiction to bad food like candy and anything processed that we call 'Desert' or a snack? Every time I try to give up sugary stuff I feel the need for it. Wendy O. Williams once compared it to heroin, which in a way she was right.

Most habits or addictions can be broken in 30 days. Deal with it. Substitute your sugary foods that you love with fruit.

Raspberry plants grow like weeds. Maybe start a garden to get more fresh foods!

I stopped caring about eating 'healthy' now, too hard and why bother?

It's a shame that healthy foods are expensive over junk food. Often times you'll see sales on junk food such as buy one get one free or reduced price. I rarely see vegetables/fruits having buy one get one free or coupons for them. That's why people eat junk food over healthy food if they can't afford it.

I clip food coupons whenever I can and it's mostly junk food. Once in awhile I'll get a coupon for orange juice.

Once you learn how to cook, healthy food is not that expensive. Here is what I get:

Smart balance Healthy Heart popcorn
low sugar strawberry perserve
smart balance butter
100% whole wheat bread
Whole raw almonds
A few fruits

This takes care of snacks and breakfast.

learn to grill boneless, skinless chicken breast in low fat marinade
only grill Top Round steak
bake salmon and haddock, only buy on sale.
whole wheat pasta, look for rustico or spaghetti sauce low fat
(stay away from anything that says three cheese)
Buy bargain wine instead of beer, or at least light beer

And the cost of veggies and fruits has gone up a lot lately. I hate to see how much veggies and fruits will cost when winter get here.

You can buy a packages of seeds to grow your veggies , and that does not cost a lot of money . There is a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in your state. How can you afford to have a computer and not money for a bag oranges ?

I use a tablet a friend gave me and before that I used an old laptop until it died. I tried to do a garden in the yard, but everything either dies or the majority of the time just won't grow. What is a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programme?

It's hard to shop healthy yes, but there are lots of stores that are low income grocery stores and stuff like that. At least you're drinking water... that's good. There are usually always options if you seek them hard enough. Like whatdidyousay said... SNAP is just about in every state I believe. =P
