Hearing Impaired....a medical standpoint. Wonder what kind of stuff will be said in this meeting. That ASL is a no-no and that for one to be successful, they must be able to hear?

Why doesn't someone bother to go and actually find out, rather than assume?

Got a flight ticket for me to fly out there? I am broke. Since u instist, then pay for me to fly out there so I can judge.

The key word here u missed...

See my next post.

This is my experience and I know plenty about it.

Again..the key word is what?

"I wonder..."

Not "I know....."

"I wonder..."

Living my life as a deaf person, I see all the medical terms being used right off the bat so experience is a powerful thing. Always people who hold a strong medical view on deafness tend to see ASL as a last resort. Always. Unless, of course, your experience was the total opposite..that those who have a strong medical viewpoint reccomends ASL along with AVT and CIs. *shrug*

You say things like "medical view" and I have no idea what that means. People who advocate for CI's and spoken language have the view that deaf children can not hear, which is true. The devices help them access the language of the majority.
