Reports: 'CSI' Actors Fox, Eads Fired
LOS ANGELES - Two stars of the CBS hit television series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" were fired for breach of contract, KCBS-TV and Variety reported Thursday.
Actors Jorja Fox (news) and George Eads, who play investigators Sara Sidle and Nick Stokes, were fired after asking for more money to stay on the show, according to the reports.
Danica Smith, publicist for both Fox and Eads, told The Associated Press that Fox was fired Wednesday but did not have details. Smith could not confirm whether Eads was fired.
A CBS spokesman said the network had no comment.
Eads didn't show up for work Thursday, the first day of production for the next season, according to the news station and Variety, which posted a story on its Web site Thursday.
The actors were in the fifth of their seven-year contracts.
Though a search was under way for their replacements, it's unclear whether show creators will recast the characters or develop new ones, the reports said.
The show picked up four Emmy nominations Thursday, including one for best drama series.

cuz i just LOVE Jorja Fox's character as Sara!!!! Sara is VERY analytical and she questions just abt everything!
I am in your boat that I love CSI LV over MIAMI.. What's up with him (EADS). Well, to be honest, Nicks character is so lack of acting in that CSI, dont you agree? I dont know why Sara's character is less and less? I know Gil is in love with Sara but won't admit it. His name is William Petersen. I am in love with William. 
to u Frisky gurl! i have also noticed Sara's character appearing less and i agree i dont get it if Grissom is secretly in love with Sara and i suspect Sara ALSO has a thing for Grissom! i just wished that the storywriters would have made Jorja's character to be a lesbian! that would so TOTALLY rock! she played a lesbian doctor on ER if i recall correctly qq
That's not good, the executives of that show should've tried doing some negotations with them rather than firing them outright -- look at what happened with the cast from 'Friends'...they demanded for a pay rise and they got it through negotitations. Why can't CSI executives do the same?! Dammit.
