Fayette County’s Emergency 911 center will host an open house for all deaf citizens of Fayette County and their families Saturday, June 18, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

All local citizens who are deaf or otherwise communications impaired are invited to bring their friends and family to visit during the event.

Officials want to show how the facility is well-equipped and able to handle their TDD calls directly in hopes that they might feel more comfortable about calling us if they are ever in need of assistance.

Any local residents who have friends or family members who are deaf but do not live in Fayette County are encouraged to invite them to participate as well. One Fayette dispatcher knows sign language and will be there to help those who need an interpreter.

Refreshments will be provided.

Wow, that is truly excellent idea. That's what we need... I hope one of deafies in that local can record the informations, take some pictures and such to write a article for us to read and view the pictures.
