My pastor at the church this morning was talking about 7 churches of Revelation as models to challenge us this year- 2007. The 7 churches are addressed in chapters 2 and 3 and they were 7 literal churches located in Asia Minor, or modern day Turkey. Some Scholars say that these churches also represents 7 different periods of church history as well as different churches in every age. For example, there are suffering churches (Symrna) as well as lukewarm (Laodicea) churches today. I just wanted to share this with you and use them to challenge others to rise to another level in our journey with the Lord.

I. Ephesus: We need to rekindle our love for Jesus (Rev:1-7)
A. Through Returning to the first Works
B. Through Positive Love
C. Through Personal love

II. Symrna: We need to be willing to suffer (2:8-11)
A. Through separation from the world.
B. Through resisting the Devil
C. Through Self-Crucifixion

III. Pergamos: We need to be uncompromising (2:18-17)
A. Through Faithfulness to Christ even in the face of martyrdom
B. Through Spiritual warfare

IV. Thyatira: We need to be sound in doctrine (2;18-29)
A. Through Love for the Word
B. Through Faithful Service
C. Through Patient Hope

V. Sardis: We need to be sincere and self Judging (3:1-6)
A. Through honest Self judgement
B. Through Vigilance
C. Through Godliness

VI. Philadelphia: We need to be evangelistic (3:7-13)
A. Through Faithfulness to the word of God
B. Through faithfulness to the will of God
C. Through faithfulness to the work of God

VII. Laodicea: We need to get on fire for God (3:14-22)
A. Through humility before God
B. Through a fresh filling of the spirit
C. Through Opening the doors of hearts to Jesus.

It's why we have this Christianity/Religions forum to share about the Words of God. :)

Last night I served 2 different churches, but under the same doctrines that I believe in. I really had a good time with my sisters and brothers in Christ. Fellowship, share the scriptures with others, pray, and have a refreshment together. On every thursday, I attend to one of the pastor's home to study God's Words. Next month, I will be gone to Des Moines for the weekend to serve the Lord.

That is wonderful to hear.. but did u know that most of the churches doesnt want to talk about Revealation in fear of losing the members. I wonder why? But it is God's words that we have to be prepared and tell people about him.

I guess they didnt want to scare people but my pastor was not scared cuz he believe it is starting already.. alot of my sisters and brothers cried yesterday at the service in realizing time is short and we all pray for other lost souls that need to be saved now.

Bless you, Cyberred.. :)

Thanks, Gingerbread. :)

Yes, I did told to one of my sisters ( in Christ as family ) yesterday at my church that I can sense this year of 2007 is goin' to be bad one ... but, what ? I dunno. It will reveal itself what is goin' to happen. So, we need to prepare for what's comin' in our lives. Be sure to look up in Heaven and rely on God/Jesus...askin' for His strength to be with you at all times. And, also keep readin' the bible and pray to keep you on track with Him.

Don't forget number one priority in your life : Apologize and forgive others. :)

Interesting and I will have to come back to reading this later with my Bible and accepting Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior is another # 1 priority too. :) :thumb:
