I think they have a right to not hire you because the job responsibilities include answering the phone.

It's like working for a police department or the fire department. There are positions there that require you to hear everything at all times.

Yai-yi-yi-yi.....actually, a deaf or HOH person can work in other position in any store, police department, fire department, etc...they do not have to take a call but they can work around like filing the cases, filling out the paperworks, etc...what I see on the application if someone who is a deaf or HOH wants to work in police department, there is a special accommandation (sp? I'm too sleepy) when an interviewer is interviewing and testing them.
