Simon Cowell is being guarded by security staff 24 hours-a-day after receiving over 500 death threats every week.
The 'American Idol' and 'X Factor' judge, who has reduced countless pop hopefuls to tears with his vicious jibes on both TV talent shows, has been bombarded with terrifying threats from the UK and the US warning him his life is in danger.

Cowell said: "I'm getting 500 e-mails every week and I have been threatened by people waiting for me with baseball bats. People want to kill me."

American TV bosses and Cowell are now taking the threats extremely seriously after one singer who was recently rejected by the music mogul was arrested for shooting a man.

The millionaire record producer is currently being guarded round the clock by six former US Special forces soldiers wherever he goes.

Cowell, 45, has even begun wearing bullet-proof body armour for extra protection, while every contestant on 'American Idol' is now being scanned by metal detectors to check for knives and guns.

The threats have also left Simon's fellow 'American Idol' judges fearing for their own safety in case they are caught in the middle of an attack.

He can get quite cruel when giving out rejection slips. No tact there.
 
:zzz: It's all hype. The reason he's a judge on that show is so he can be the "resident reject". Meaning, he's the one that slices and dices the contestants. Paula is the "nice" one, and, Randy is the "logical" one.

Whatever. The show is probably rigged. :sure:

Well I believe it, because....
the American Idol tv show has the highest
tv ratings... why Simon needs to say about
the threats for if you think it is because
to get more ratings????

Actually, I am getting rather sick of it. Infact, I am ready to stop watching it, because I am tired of the fighting. Geeze, who cares to hear it anymore!? Simon is a immature, conceited, big time,abusive JERK! And I think Paula is really not looking very wise for sitting there putting up with his comment's. Be a LADY Paula, and DON'T stand there and take his crap anymore!!! Is the money worth looking like a total fool taking Simon's BS??

Amazing, how us American's will let Simon get away talking to us that way! OK maybe they can't sing, but come on with totally putting them down. One day someone is going to commit suicide because of this show! Look at these young kids in school pulling guns out and shooting people because of the exact same way Simon treats these kid's!!

Aren't we trying to teach our kid's to treat people better then this???

Come on America.. Don't stand for it anymore! There is enough violent's in this world today!!

Write Fox and let them know that we are tired of Simon's crude remark's!

Ever wonder why crime isnt out of line in canada? Cause the police there protects everyone!!!! Not just the wealthy and politicans. EVERYONE!!! And canadians dont lock their cars or lock their doors and i bet its safe to walk in the streets of montreal at night than it is down in new york or in baltimore.

I saw it last season. I was curious enough to see what it was all about, but now, I'm like :sure:


As I already stated, it's probably rigged. As for Cowell himself, he's had his time in the spotlight. Now, lets get the hook.....

When it comes to these kinds of things, I believe in being honest. You shouldn't make someone think they are good enough when they just might not be. However, I don't think being cruel is good. Meg used a good word, and it's something people need to remember....

TACT. You can really hurt someone with "brutal truth", and that's not necessary.
