4-Year-Old Can Be Sued, Judge Rules in Bike Case

Not really. They get reported more and it merely seems that way.

Things have changed drastically, more Predators, more crime and drugs, breaking and entering, theft.....on and on.

Maybe so and maybe not! Parents are more "aware" these days...we never locked our doors in the old days, but we do now.....Meth and many other drugs were not around in the old days.....And with the Sex Offender Alerts I get on my computer, I can track where they are.....So, is it a "blessing that was in disguise"??...

Hee, not really. It just seems that way due to the mainstream media being more accessible than ever these days.

Oh, drugs were around in the old days. Heck, even alcohol was considered an illegal drug. Al Capone, anybody? There were a lot of organized crimes back in the old days. A lot of them are still around to this day.

If there weren't drugs back then, can you explain why they made an anti-pot movie called "Reefer Madness"? It came out in 1938. That's over 70 years ago.

Of course there were alcohol and pot....what I'm referring to, is that drugs is more rampant these days. Especially Crack and Meth, even computer Spray....Even the Mexican drug cartels....so I do believe it's worse these days than in the old days.

And gosh, two and three year olds running up and down stairs while holding scissors!!!!
You didn't mention the stairs in your original post. Did you go to the area and prevent the toddlers from further mischief and try to locate the parents? I have done that before. Calling the police is a drastic action and should only be a last resort. But that is just me.
I disagree that drugs are more rampant than before, but that is just me.
There is no need to be fearful, not that I am saying you are...

Beowulf...there is a lot more to what I've posted, but I just don't get into deeply the details! I could sit and type a whole page or more about it.
The 2 and 3 yr/ olds were NOT running up and down the stairs with scissors....they were TRYING to crawl up them, since their little legs are too short and they lack the balance and are too short to hold onto the rail.
They were also running up and down the sidewalks, but the main thing I saw was the steps. They were out there quite a while and the mother nowhere to be seen.
I didn't call the Police, I called our Security and whatever they report, then it's up to the property manager to take action or not. The Mother seems to have more "write ups" than this incident, but not from my reporting it.
I'm not fearful....an attentive and responsible Mother would have been out there with her kids.

Wirelessly posted

Rate of drug addiction didn't really change. What did change is we now try to rehab people back, and we don't institutionize the mentally ill anymore.

It only seems like society went downhill because satellites and optic cables enable distribution of information to be almost instanteous-- oppose to the days of Incan rope runners and the pressing press.

Um... not really. It goes up and down all of the times. Cocaine was pretty common back then too as well along with a number of other drugs.

Right and if you were to take a look at the statistics in your area... you would see that it's not so bad... provided that you don't live in a city like St. Louis, Atlanta, etc. It's just that the news report so many crimes on a daily basis that it makes it seem like it's worse than ever when it isn't.

Actually, I did report a resident since her 2 kds, ages 2, and 3...outside playing and she was no where to be seen. She is being evicted for not following the rules. These kids were way tooooo young to be outside without an adult.

Good! They needed to be reported......2 and 3 geez.

Quite true. The predators have always been there. In the past, it was "Uncle Henry down the street is a bit eccentric, dear. Don't let the children play in his yard."

You do understand that cocaine was readily available in the late 1800's, don't you? Opium, as well.

you're gravely mistaken. back in old days was much much much worse than now. Everything was controlled by organized crimes and deep corruption in government/police.

ever wonder where the NYC "Five Families" are?

I recall reading about the Commission and how it served as a governing body of the mafia in the USA. It's quite amazing how rich the history of the mafia in the USA is. They even had a national alliance called National Crime Syndicate. So much for being subtle.

Without the Commission,we wouldn't have the Godfather trilogy.

On a serious note, people should be aware that the Commission is still in existence to this day. So beware of who you try to screw over.
