Technology is quickly making serious strides to turn what was science fiction into reality, enough to bring concern to those who lack the education to understand it. Think it's a promising piece of tech or an experiment always riddled with problems?

Here's an example, ran into an article where there's an attempt to convert an MP3 file and built into a vinyl record! (I know one can use studio tech for this, but this thread is solely about 3D printing..) Feel free to add other examples...

Now You Can 3D Print Any MP3 Into A Vinyl Record

Probably not, could be copyrights thrown across the board. Converting digital file to a physical item, amazing!

Not just that, but since I have years of experience in manufacturing. Having 3D printer would help bring production cost down seriously big time and more profits for greedy corporations. What that means, that the prototype costs will drop big time making it easier for inventors to create new products. I mean, could easily kill the R&D costs. Plus for movie makers, man! it is gonna be cheaper making something fake in instant. Alot possiblities with 3D printing.
On downside, those who are only limited skill laborers, expert in engraving will no longer be needed. For instance, making class of XX rings, they were first engraved using wax, then mold them and these involves a lot of labor, but with 3D printer it can be done in seconds with accuracy and these people jobs are gone.

Other positive thing about this is often when one have antiques, for example classic cars, and parts are bound to be break, and it would be impossible to find these parts. With 3D printing, making parts would be much cheaper.

And your right, those who lacks the skills are going to be out of luck (SOL)
