30-year-old horse rescued from sinkhole
Crews faced an unusual rescue from a Maryland sinkhole Monday night.
A 30-year-old blind and deaf horse fell 15-feet down into the ground in Woodsboro, Maryland.
Crews struggled for nearly six hours to free the large animal, an Appaloosa named "Chief".
Dozens of workers were on site, including experts from a local horse rescue. A veterinarian gave Chief fluids and sedated him so crews could hoist him up to safety.
They finally got him out, and covered him with blankets to keep him warm.
