I don't think that many thought China to be that much of a tourist attraction and, with the economies faltering and gas surcharges liberally applied to everything, many would opt to stay home (those from the U.S., I would think).

Lip-synching? Would have been nice if China was true. In all honesty, most everything - including hearing concerts - are lip-synched. I remember the controversy when Janet did it . . . then Brittany did it. When Madonna did it, society was already accepting non-live sounding performances.
