2 months off from work

I learned from a friend today about summer month off. She learned about other country that she does not remember which country was that they have two months off from work during the summer time. I was like huh. I have never heard of it. I asked her if she meant about the teachers? she said, " no anyone works who do get summer months off. "

France has 5 weeks minimum of vacation for everyone by law, plus a 20 or so holiday days off.

That amounts to about 9 weeks off a year for everyone.

There is no way "everyone is off" for a summer, the entire country will be grinding to a halt. (Think no food, no gas stations, no tampons for 2 months)
 
Is it furlough? Our city is furloughing employees. It's bad because the employees don't earn any income while furloughed. For teachers, the salary is spread out over the summer.
 
No tampons is not a problem because I have a Diva cup. Should I take this over to the discussion about birth control?
 
some of us do have work off for more than 2 months. My friend said, "other coutnry have similiar as school off with pays".

I appreciate your all inputs here. lol
 
I know many teachers will have two or three months off during the summer until they return to prepare in time for the start of school year.

My sister has been an accounting professor in community college for more than one year. She just started her three months long summer vacation.

Yes for teachers, but I am speaking for everyone who aren't teachers who do get two or three months off and still get pays. I was like, " if it were true then i will move to the certain country!"

Ok I got it. My good friend gets six to eight weeks off from his job on one of the oil rigs on Grand Bank off Newfoundland every summer.

your friend still have holiday day off, personal day and sick day off as well?
 
if you have 2 months off Visit me ! visit me! id take you all over the country...
