Wisconsin Fire Kills Two Kids Left Home Alone

Investigators in the La Crosse, Wisconsin area are looking for the cause of a fire that killed two young cousins.

A two-year-old boy and three-year-old girl died Wednesday afternoon when fire spread quickly through a home on French Island.

Town of Campbell Police Chief Mark Hess says the house was owned by the victims' grandparents. He says the children were home alone. The chief said Thursday the grandmother was at work and the grandfather was apparently at an appointment.

Hess and a state trooper who spotted smoke coming from the roof of the ranch tried to get into the house, but flames and heavy smoke drove them back.

It took firefighters several hours to bring the blaze under control. La Crosse and La Crescent, Minnesota firefighters assisted.

An excavating crew knocked down the shell of the house late Wednesday night so the state fire marshal and firefighters could look through the debris to find a cause.

Yes, Steel may be right becz kids are always loved being curiouis playing matches and started fire.. Children turns out shock and doesn't know how to stop the fire but stayed and staring fire increases.. then *smoked into child's suffoded* become death.

Over Billions children who died by playing with matches and lighter... (some where the website has information about death)

I can't beleive what their Grandparents do is neglect their toddlers alone in the home which they know very well that it's very responsible for not leave the toddlers alone in the home.
I'm wondering what their parents react? Please keep the post with the news over their parents...
Oh dear I CAN'T leave my toddlers alone in the house... I'm too scared that something might be happened to them when they are alone...because my children are value in the world to me...
What they did to toddlers are very disguisting...

Steel, yes you were right about matches through curiously..
My sister & I played with the matches early in the morning, that's time our parents were still slept. I never forget when I was around 5 years old. We lit the fire for the fun then throw them into rubbish bin with full of papers... The fire grow slowly from rubbish bin at living room. We do is tried to calm the fire down but the fire were too strong. We have no choice & ran to wake our parents... FIRE FIRE FIRE then ran back to our bedroom & stay under the bed... lol The smoking are everywhere from living room to kitchen... My Dad get bucket of full water to calm the fire down from rubbish bin... SAVE...
When it's over then my Dad pulled us from under the bed & spanking our po.... Dad still talked about this but I also still remember because the "fire" scar on my head...
I can image what if my parents are not around? Oh dear... That's why I never let my small children alone in the home...

well your very lucky that your parents were still around, or else you would be fried to death, instead. I'm glad to hear that you learned a lesson.

ah, no wonder its furance. in my house furance is impossible to find.. and its hidden in the wall.. :D so my kids can't play with it :D

yeah furance have flameable things inside.. some old fashion oil furance have fire permentally and its not totally child proof. its always best to have updated natural gas furance and hidden so no kids can play around with it.
