That's amazing. You would think he would have so much pain, he could not even walk around.

wow :eek3:

I know it´s very pain to have kidney stone inside you... but big? The doctor must have known earlier than later???

Yikes! That had to be really painful carrying a kidney stone of that size.

It makes me wonder how long did the kidney stone progress to develop to a bigger size like this one? Here I'm thinking, It is probably impossible to have a big kidney stone in an instant. It had to develop gradually (slowly, of course) to get to that point.

If it was that case, the pain should have been immediately recognized when it was gradually developing to a bigger size.

Holy Cow!!

I have never experience a kidney stone.. But I have seen my friend pass out from pain!
And for her to sweat and cry for hours and hours before she passed it.

but larger ones would be lodged in place. The smaller ones that moves and the pain is from passing and the stones moving. Is what I have heard. Not sure. :dunno:

Something that large should have been noticed. Im surprised it did not rupture his kidney or cause major issues due to the stone or blockage of being able to pass urine.

I have never seen anything like that before. I just took a peek and closed the site.

That is very serious pain ouch my kidney is not good because cause med mixing caffine is dangerous.

There was an episode of House that I saw recently (3rd season) where he was dealing with a girl who had CIPA (cannot feel pain). She was going through a lot of unusual and unexplained health problems and they couldn't figure out why her body wasn't getting her medicine. Turns out that she had a 25 ft tapeworm in her stomach. In real life, it would be very painful... but with CIPA, she never felt pain from that tapeworm.

So, it's possible for people to not notice. They either have high tolerance, got used to it, or can't feel it due to CIPA or nerve damage. :dunno:

Ah, I remember that episode very clearly because I couldn't still forget about that 25 foot tapeworm in her stomach. Eek!

Yeah, anything could be possible but in this case, the article didn't mention how long he has been carrying that kidney stone... I was curious to see how long he had it?

This stimulated some interest in me to pursue the subject, without googling up on a quickie answer, what are some causes of obtaining kidney stones?

I would assume some of the stuff we eat/drink? Anyone have direct firsthand info on 'em?
