190,000 more posts....

Hmmm, I just noticed something odd about Alldeaf. The mobile version of Alldeaf shows 1,834,813 posts but the desktop shows 1,820,068 posts. I wonder why it's showing different counts for the same website. :hmm:

I think the desktop ate some of the posts.

I hope Alex doesn't sell AD.com to some outside company that would likely start charging 'membership fees'. That's a forum killer like no other.

BUT as far as being thisclose to 2 Million posts - have we placed bets on when we will reach that milestone here?

Alex did refuse an offer in the past because it was only $500,000 few years ago. Many forums do charge a membership fees in other ways like private messaging that you can't receive but only send to a member, viewing certain pictures and other stuff. Maybe some forums throttle down on free membership but speed up when you have paid membership? I'm not sure about that.

I don't know about forums throttling users, but I do hear of forums requiring paid memberships to access ALL areas of the site. Whereas, if your a free member, you can't post in more specific areas, or you have ads in between posts, or you can't upload or download media above a certain size on the forum.

I think we do good here by allowing members to make a donation rather than scamming them into paying for certain services such as private messaging, user avatar, and sharing media.
