Newsnet - 19-year old Marume scoops Miss Deaf 2009
Zimbabwe has held it first ever Miss Deaf Zimbabwe Pageant with 15 ladies taking to the ramp.
The event, taking place for the first time in the country was held in preparation for the Miss Deaf World 2009 Beauty Pageant to be held in the Czech Republic.
Founder and Organizer of the Pageant, Madeline Yohane, said the passion she has for people with disabilities has made it possible for her to come up with such a beauty pageant.
19 year old Biebit Marume was crowned Miss Deaf Zimbabwe 2009 and will represent the country at the Miss Deaf World Pageant to be held in the Czech Republic from the 1st to the 12th of next month.
Miss Marume who walked away with a USD100 gift voucher, one year beauty treatment and a ticket to Victoria Falls said she feels great to be crowned Miss Deaf Zimbabwe 2009.
The event was held under the theme “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.”
