I have been told by the Customer Support for Wireless CapTel by Sprint that a cutting in and out problem with my voice is probably coming from not having a strong and stable enough 3G signal. That is in spite of me making my calls when I have the Green Status Bar that is their way of indicating a good signal. We even got 4G here relatively recently! That, of course, is not available on PagePlus or other Verizon prepaid.

I have done all my posting here from my computer. So, even though I downloaded from SpeedTest.Net the other day I am uncertain how to post those results from a phone here. Thus, I am transcribing it here by typing .

These are all sitting at my desk this morning from a server in St. Louis, MO.

As you can see this jumps within moments of each other for each run of the test. There is less detail on a test available through the app but jumps like this from both of my phones. Anyone have any ideas?

Below is in case you want more detail about what I am using. They have started talking more and more about 4G on their site at Wireless CapTel by Sprint | Sprint CapTel after everything came out about being on 3G.

Have been doing some more research about my voice cutting in and out when using Wireless CapTel by Sprint. For a long time I thought it as coming from having to hold in the mike switch on my neckloop the entire time that I am talking (can let up when receiving from the other party to the call). But . . . it has gone on so long that I thought surely I have that mastered. Thus I went to pulling the neckloop out once I had responded to someone’s greeting (the neckloop is used so that I know when they quit talking even though I don’t understand what they are saying) to keep them from hanging up while I read their entire greeting. The cutting in and out has persisted even speaking directly into the phone.

look into the air rave from sprint if you have that connection issue at home.
I have one installed and love it.

What is "air rave"? I am on PagePlus which is a Verizon MVNO.

Also, my main interest in using Wireless CapTel by Sprint or another similar service is making calls when away from home or WIFI. I have the cutting in and out elsewhere in town as well.

At home I use my state relay (Illinois) with a TTY and VCO.

oh my bad ... I assumed you were using captel on your phone with a regular payment provider like sprint or verizon. I didnt realize that you were on prepaid plan - I think its something like you get what you pay for.

Your best bet at this point I think is to get the soho zboost to boost your phone signal in your home. You might want to sit down for this -- its about 200 bucks to get one.

Please look at the places that I quoted above and added both bold and italic. Maybe I should have said this some other way but I thought referring to 3G and PagePlus as well as how Verizon handles any prepaid service was enough. What Verizon does not allow on prepaid is 4G. I have found no indication anywhere that they do anything to 3G service.

Also, why are you talking about "soho zboost" (what ever that is) for my home when I already said the my interest in Wireless CapTel by Sprint or similar service is for when I am out where I will be using cell service?
