ONE of Edinburgh's busiest composers, James Douglas, has his 100th concert at Christ Church, Morningside, next month.
Mr Douglas, 72, has been unable to hear a single note of his own work since illness left him profoundly deaf 14 years ago.
He can lip read and is able to remember the sound of notes from before he lost his hearing.
His symphonies and concertos have been performed in New York, Paris and London.
The gala concert, featuring music by Douglas, Handel and Charpentier, is on December 2.
