Ghana Broadcasting Corporation :: 100 deaf children can’t get entry into 2nd cycle schools ::: GBC | GTV | Ghana Radio | Ghana Television

The Headmistress of the Cape Coast School for the Deaf (CAPEDEAF), Barbara Ennin, says about 100 children who have applied to be admitted into the school cycle institutions cannot be admitted because of lack of infrastructure.

She disclosed this when the Susanna Wesley Mission Auxiliary of the Wesley Methodist Cathedral in Cape Coast presented items valued at about GH¢100 to the school .

The gifts include assorted foods and used clothing. Madam Ennin stated that presenting the school is now over crowded. She therefore appealed to the government to provide them with infrastructure including classrooms and administration blocks.

Madam Ennin advised parents not to hide their children with disability but give them education, so they can live meaningful lives.

The president of the Susanna Wesley Mission Auxiliary, Catherine Walden, asked teachers to be patient with the children entrusted in their care. She appealed to individuals and groups come to assist the school.
