Hello. My name's Joel. My user name comes from a a phoenix I created for my saga. Eodil is the phoenix of shadow. As you may have guessed, I am a fantasy writer. I published my first book last year and have been working diligently on the sequels. You can find the link to my storefront under my home page. Soon, my other books will make an appearance there.

I am a fourth year communication major at RIT. Specifically, my program is called Professional & Technical Communication. While I do enjoy this program, when I graduate I may not go into the field. I will likely return to the plumbing world (I love to work with my hands) during the day; at night, I will don my super hero cape, sit at my computer and write my stories.

All I ever really do in my free time is work on my novels--whether I'm actually writing or tweaking the lore here and there. I also enjoy horror movies (though they are actually my comedies, as I often laugh my head off at them).

Not sure what else to say. If there's anything you'd like to know, just ask away. Glad to be here.
 
Haha, that's funny; I'm a writer too, and before I went back to grad school for an MFA I was a maintenance supervisor, doing a lot of plumbing on top of other things. I love to work with my hands as well. I don't spend as much time writing as you though, and I write contemporary fiction, so a bit different genres, but still. Funny to meet another writer who likes mundane work.

I simply copied and pasted the Russian informal 'hello'.

I tell people I'm deaf so I don't have to explain my audio processing disorder. Most people don't understand it, so it saves a lot of time. I do have a mild hearing loss, however, and have a deaf family.
