Deaf Studies Digital Journal Issue 4

I don't think they have captions, but some of the videos have transcripts. When you choose the video you want to watch, a list of links (for each section of the video) appears to the right of the picture. If there is a transcript, the link to it should be just above that list of links. Just...

    warning for interpreters

Mods, please move this thread if I've placed it inappropriately. Translation companies are approaching interpreters with work, but requiring them to sign contracts that have dangerous non-compete clauses. This limits the work they can do with the same clients in the future. My understanding is...

What are you doing right now?

@posts 2335,7,9,2341,3, et al. I sort of need to side with Mark on this one. Not the part where he was talking to you like you're hurting for money. That was annoying and I'm with you on that. And not the part where he seems to be talking like he's got all his problems worked out and tries to...

NexTalk is Introducing SimpliciTTY Access, FREE TTY software

Ok, so I will take that as a no, since (as I stated before, now bolded), she does not use a computer. I was interested in finding out if your software on my computer would allow me to contact her through her TTY setup on her landline. That is all she uses. It is fine that the answer is no...

NexTalk is Introducing SimpliciTTY Access, FREE TTY software

I wonder if I could use your product. I am hearing. I don't have a landline. I have cell phone, a laptop and an internet connection. I have a Deaf friend who uses TTY with her landline. (She does not use a computer at all.) I would like to have a TTY conversation with her without relying on a...

HOA doesn't allow trucks to be parked on street.

Not really a law, though. Just a HOA rule. Real estate developers create a corporation (that is the HOA) and people have to join in order to buy a house there. Whatever you want to call it, it really makes me sick. Basically snobbery formed into a set of rules. At least in this case.

If he loses, he should do it! (unless they have some regulation covering it.)

Oh, ok, so no stacks of boxes, things like that. So they just love *making* rules then :0

HOA doesn't allow trucks to be parked on street.

Cars. And a note to MangaReader, the HOA in the link is actually prohibiting the guy from parking his pickup in the driveway overnight, not just the street. The whole thing makes me sick. People wanting things to look a certain way - I think Derek is right: they don't want working class...
