I talk very well... ...I don't hear very well and so I am not always sure if I am speaking loud enough or too loud.] The bigger problem is understanding hearing people.

I prefer the term... "partially deaf" over "hard of hearing" or "hearing disabled" because partially deaf is more acurate and easy for the hearing world to understand.

I don't like... the term "disablility" because it implies that I am not a whole or complete person, that there is something wrong with me, something missing and that I should be pitied. God made me the way I am and I am complete and whole just as I am. :wave:

The only way.. .. for communication to really happen between any different groups is a real desire to get to know the other party. If the two parties are not really interested in the other party, no amount of learning will make a difference. Think about the Israelies and Palistinians.

I've always thought... that the term "hard of hearing" didn't make sense. A more accurate term for my situation is "partially deaf" because I can't hear high frequencies no matter what.

Oh there's nothing like the piano! I listen to ANY type of piano music! If it's a piano I'm there listening. I'm a classical pianist so naturally I prefer classical! I also really like piano concertos! I also have a passion for Dave Brubeck... he's my hero! No better jazz pianist!

What!? Of course there are! "deaf" musicians are often the most passionate musicians! Think of my hero Beethoven! Have you ever heard his 9th symphony? Incredible stuff considering he has totally deaf!
