I would consider myself in the "I can hear just good enough with a HA" section. I reckon I am spot on the hear 80% with HA's. My hearing loss is about 60/75db in both ears. With my HA's in I can get by in most situations, and in really noisy situations I do better than hearies as i can...

I wear phonak micropower v's..BTE digitals.... before that I had starkey micro in the canals...but ran out of power with them... I would recommend digitals above analogues...when I have a prob with my phonaks...I have to revert to analogue aids for a bit and they just are dire...way too...

Re Reading the posts as well.... ...if you have a CI....does it not just switch on in the way a HA does then?? Overthepond is describing having frequencies turned on...is this because of your level of deafness prior to CI and you actually have to learn to comprehend a sound itself?? or is...

I haven't worked out all the technicalities of replying on this forum yet....and there are quite a few comments that are coming in..... I used to wear ITE's..... small one like the starkey micro...but they reached a point where the apmlification was not enough, and rather than go to a bigger...

This is great stuff..... my hearing loss is about 50/60db in both ears.....so my didgital aids give it a reasonable kick....but its nice to have a conversation with people who understand that just cos you make the sound louder, it doesn't make it easier to hear! .....and so what if you can...
