    Do you live in California?

I'm a recent transplant from Indiana. Moved to SoCal about 3 yrs ago, San Diego to be specific. I've learned that I would rather be poor & live here in Cali as I've become rich in experiences. Fortunately, my job pays well where I can have a modest lifestyle & experience some of what Cali is...

    San Diego Deaf Meetup

awesome. This is just the thing I need. I've moved down here to SD about a year ago, but still haven't met anyone that is HOH/deaf as I've been busy with work and all. Thanks for the heads up. Could I still show up if I don't RSVP via that website?

    Transformers DVD

Brought the HD-DVD version @ Fry's for 26$ on a blind buy. If you have the means to see it in HD, it's worth it. I would say that this disc surpasses King Kong in terms of picture & sound quality.

    Deaf Humor?

Humor is always subjective to the person. Just like some will find Chris Rock funny, and some will not. I've had conversations with some deaf friends and we were having some great times with our sides hurtin', tears out of our eyes. But other deaf participates didn't really enjoy the scene...

Some suggestions for Law Enforcement. I could use your help.

I've been pulled over a few times in the past for different reasons (such as speeding once, being white in a primary black neighborhood, or my car matches a 'wanted' description). But with each encounter, all the enforcers didn't make any attempt to remove the communication barrier. Since...

An Open Thread Dedicated To Shel90

I too have encountered 2 drunk driving incidents. The first was a friend that was walking to baseball pratice and he was hit while walking on the sidewalk. The guy was never found. It was a hit & run. Worse part was that I blamed myself for the longest time after I found out that he left...

Anyone who Deaf or Hard of Hearing Medicine Doctoral

I don't know much about the medical billing/coding clerk requirements. But I do know that you should check out the reputation of the school, so pay attention to some of the stats they provide, such as graduation to hire ratio as well as what students are saying about their courses & the school...

Anyone who Deaf or Hard of Hearing Medicine Doctoral

Thanks Cancuckian Chick. Price is something else :eek3: I've been looking into it, but seems like my aid is not compatiable with the one I want the most which requires a euro input or something of the sort, or portability becomes an issue(especially since we carry walkers, forms, kits)...

Anyone who Deaf or Hard of Hearing Medicine Doctoral

Hey Doug, Could you point out where you got the stethescope to work with your aid. I'm interested in that, as I'm a therapist. Anytime there is a form of hypotension, or vital data is needed to determine tolerance, etc.... I always have to grab a mechanical one that takes their readings...

    Male Body Shave

I shave my arms & chest. I started doing this in college for track. It just felt like I would be able to run faster. I did this after meeting a guy that was on the swim team and he shaved his arm & legs. When he explained that there is less friction in the water which will allow him to...

    Your advice needed

I didn't realize that cell phones can do video calls. But I can't imagine the payment on the plans if they do utilize that as that has to require an extensive amount of info being exchanged. But I'm intriged as well. But if it's possible, then a good quality/resolution screen will be...

Ever filed a discrimination lawsuit on ur job??

well, for starters, I would recommend starting a journal. You need to start documenting events, the experiences so you can start showing a paper trail. This will give you extra clout when push comes to shove, as you will need some burden of proof. You should approach this in the same manner...

how do u react when ur under exetemely bad stress?

growing up, i relieved a lot of stress by taking it out on weights. I would just lift to the point where I couldn't move my body. I guess it allowed me to control my own pain rather than enduring the feeling of i can't control it. I also went to batting cages...very helpful & really allows...

Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself

welcome abbysmom Perhaps you should take a more specific notice of when and/or where this incidence occurs. I'm assuming that the test they ran included MRI/MRA, possibly a CT scan as well to determine if the issue resides with either the brain, vessels, etc.. I'm also assuming that these...

    Hello from San Diego

I wasn't aware of that deafnation event. What is it. I checked out the website. It seems like it just has seminars or something? I'm not sure what it is or what they do. I just might check it out, providing that I can get off work. Is anyone else going?

    Hello from San Diego

yeah that's true about the traffic. it does get congested some times. At least it's not quite L.A. bad (I lived there for 5 months). I've noticed that SD does have it's pros/cons, but i would like to stay here in SD. So, I'll be hanging out in the SD for the next few years figuring out if I...

    Hello from San Diego

shel90 I wasn't serious. I was just adding to wildhunt's smart comment of SD being a craphole. I was just acknowledging her humor, as SD is very lovely. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to determine if someone is kidding or serious on the internet/forums. I added a icon to...
