My daughter (8 yrs old, deaf since birth, bi-lateral CIs) does that. My favorite is when she asks where the "sharpener pencil" is. :giggle: I guess with time it will get better, if not I don't care cause it's awful cute when it happens!
PRECISELY the reason my husband and I have given up on AVT (actually never covered our mouths anyway except during therapy once a week). Also why we are getting ready to take the leap and take ASL!
We were so gullible/vulnerable in the beginning.
Jenny, these exact questions/thoughts...
Um, better. I think. She is breaking my heart. You think you are doing what you should for your kid...then you think you are only doing what THEY say is best for them. It's so freakin complicated, ya know?
Ok, I guess I should have done this before posting my other comments. I am obviously new here, and am really glad to have found AD! I look forward to reading and learning more from all of you.
I am truly sorry about your friend. As for the fly ...not to worry he came to my house and is currently buzzing around my head and computer on a suicide mission!
Shel, feel sort of out of place but just wanted to say what a super person you are to offer up hugs to me when you have your own issues going on...hope it gets better quick!
