    We are NOT disabled.

I know, that's why I gave you a :) but someone else, who knows, would actually think it is dumb so I wanted to make it clear why they should be allowed. It is the same reason people think it is dumb to have Braille on ATM, when in fact, blind people trust ATM to hand over their money than people.

    We are NOT disabled.

:) The reason I think they should be allow to have the handicapped parking spot because someone else does the driving for them (like a sister or someone) . If they were forced to park way back, blind people would keep bumping into cars and they have to walk slower to be extra careful, which...

    We are NOT disabled.

I don't see what she said isn't true. If you don't have any limitations ( limitations such as post polio sydrome) then you should not be parking in the handicapped spot. Except if you are blind. and believe it or not, majority of people have some kind of disability. Maybe they should have...

Deaf School vs. Mainstreaming..Pros and Cons?- Poston

at least they were signing to you. They didn't leave you hanging in your own little world. for the hearings. Take a mono (use mono because deaf people nor hearing aids have the ability to hear like a hearing person) he tape player and record yourself talk at least 30 minute (we deal with it...

Deaf School vs. Mainstreaming..Pros and Cons?- Poston

Did you say you had ASL interpreter? If so, no wonder you were able to focus on Education. If you don't know what the teacher is saying, and you don't have any friends, then what are you suppose to do with yourself in a mainstreamed school. This is what I had to go through. I learned more from...

HOH people who recieved an CI, pls look here!

Did I say they were perfect? No, it is the way they were trained. They do give their opinion and some can be mean but most just drop it and let the patient decide for themselves. ..... and they don't like being sued :)

Deaf School vs. Mainstreaming..Pros and Cons?- Poston

I think so too. Better that than LD class. LD teachers don't even have time with you either because they are so busy trying to teach other kids how to read.

    Help! I need pictures!

My son's kindergaren class is doing a presentation on ASL and deaf. His teacher asked me if I wanted to come and talk about my hearing aids. I told her sure. I thought about letting the kids pass around my old hearing aids in a ziplock bag so they can have a closer look. I probably remove...

If they listen to their other friend's advice, maybe they will consider your advice too.

    Cussing with your kids?

Now that's what I consider showing disrespectful around your children. Do you supposed these kids will get in trouble in school for using the wrong word? using bad words is just as bad as someone saying, "what's matter with you, are you deaf or something". You don't want to encourage your...

Deaf School vs. Mainstreaming..Pros and Cons?- Poston

as far as making hearing friends, well that's not easy either in the mainstreamed school. Most hearing can be friendly but they can be afraid to talk to you. They do the same thing with someone on the wheelchair too. There was a person on a wheelchair and no one would sit with her in lunch...

    Parents-know-best view 'outdated'

Another thing, My hippy aunt did the same thing you did. He wondered in the streets and ended up almost getting himself killed from drugs and one guy almost molested him. He needed stable family life. He didn't have a male father figure either, and a firm mother who would tell him it is...

Your definition of respect is totally different than ours. We set rules because we love them. And Europeans is not all that pretty as you make it to be. and yes, it is true, spoiling do create immature kids. I seen it all the time in America. And I grew up in a fundamental Baptist Church...
