It sounds to me like you should establish or re-establish the relationship with your audiologist, set up mappings or mapping checks, start with therapy and just take the initial steps that you were uncomfortable doing right after the sugery. Are you saying that you're using a hearing aid now...

Hopefully they do a better job than ABC's "What About Brian"! Their story only glossed over the issue and gave a false impression of how cochlear implants work.

Good luck with your blog. It is sometimes hard to keep the posts going, but I am very happy with ours because it keeps our family informed, and many people have let us know privately that it has helped them in some way. I hope yours brings joy to you as well.

And, practically speaking, who would want/be able to sit through a mapping after that surgery? You need to heal up before turn on/mapping, because it's not just like flipping a switch.

I am interested in this as well, because my experience is that often people who are not getting what they consider good results with their hearing aids are denied the ability to get a single or bilateral implant, even though they want one/them.

I'm going to send you Drew's bilateral approval letter and his explanation of benefits as soon as the latter comes in. Just want to let you know I haven't forgotten.
