Lip-Readers: Which words look identical/very similar?

Mat, bat, pat, sat, cat, ect.. Words that differ by only one letter are very hard for me.

I know this was posted over a year ago, and the user only has one post, but if this is still available I'd be interested.

    so much noise

I remember walking out of my audi's office at five years old, holding my mother's hand and looking up at her and asking, "Mommy, mom? What's that sound? That weird one, I don't like it." Turns out it was the sound of her pants rubbing together. Little things like that will seem loud for a while...

    College Dorm ADA

After talking to a few people at the school, the manager said he'd put one in. He's not exactly the most reliable on doing what he says, but we'll see. If he doesn't I'll file a complaint.

    Ear gear?

I went ahead and bought one. I figured they were worth a tray. I just hope I got the right size. I just wish they were a little cheaper. Lol.

    Ear gear?

So, does anyone have one (or more) of these? I'm thinking about buying one, but can't quite decide. They are rather expensive, and I'm not sure how they would fit/work. If yours are corded, are they long enough to reach the back of your shirt without yanking your aids out? Do they fit well...

Reaction to Ear Molds...How to Clear it Up?

Quick question; What is your current mold made of, and does it have any color/glitter in it?

    Why are you deaf?

I have a progressive loss that they think is related to a genetic disorder I have, but has not been identified. :)

Don't wear ultra powered hearing aids too often!!!

They were making an analogy between sight and hearing, using sight loss from wearing glasses to explain their point of view about possible hearing loss from wearing hearing aids.

Don't wear ultra powered hearing aids too often!!!

115dB is very, very damaging to a person with normal hearing, but to a person with 100dB of loss, it is barely a whisper. Those statistics are designed for people with average hearing, who hear their first sounds around 1-10dB in pure tone testing. Not taking into account any hearing loss at...

    Earmoulds

I know that. I said I could not find a decent picture of the molds in question, but the two ITE hearing aids shown at the bottom were similar in style to the moulds. I don't have that kind of mould any longer, so I don't have it to take a pic of, besides, it you could find that picture on the...

    Earmoulds

I couldn't find one of earmoulds, but this one has ITE aids. The difference is shown in the bottom two pics.

    Earmoulds

You could see them, they went a little out of the ear canal and not all the way into it like on the CICs.

    Earmoulds

I haven't washed out my ear or anything like mentioned, but I did get new earmoulds. They are much better now but I still get a little excess drainage and soreness sometimes on the inside of my ear. I've always been reluctant to put liquid in my ears since I had tubes when I was little, and I...

    College Dorm ADA

Next year I'm living in an apartment owned by my college, and when we went to tour, I notice that the fire alarm was simply a standard house alarm stuck to the ceiling. There it no way I'd be able to hear it, let alone through a closed door, and it has no blinker or any kind. Is it withing my...

    New Phonak Spice

Sarfarigirl's hearing aids are made to be compatible with bluetooth devices, so the aid its self is like a headset. A T-coil is a small coil in the hearing aid that picks up electrical signals sent from things that are made to talk to it, and plays them through your aid, like headphones made for...

Hair + HA = loud noises?

I've had a similar problem and spoke to my audi about it. She gave me longer tubing so that my hearing aid hangs a bit lower on my ear, and that helps a little. But other than that, she said there was nothing they could do about it and that it was a common complaint.

    New Phonak Spice

I love love love the volume button! It's easy to use, and I can still have access to programs. Because I have a moderate/moderately-severe reverse slope loss, music is really difficult for me. By the time the lows were loud enough, the highs were blown out and painful, so having a T-coil program...
