My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

Jilro, awesome reply man. You're probably right, I am a pretty confident guy as I know I've dated women way out of my league, but somehow pull it off. I guess I just don't like being treated differently, but I don't know. I am not totally uncomfortable with it, but I am not fully comfortable...

Nope, I'm pretty well known around here, so maybe she knows me, I don't know. How do you know her anyways

My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

I'd be too shy to just meet strangers at a deaf event probably, thats not really my thing, I don't know.

My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

I just have one CI on my right ear, I do pretty good with it. I talk on the phone and all that kind of stuff. Actually, some girls don't know I have a CI, I always wear a hat... and I MEAN ALWAYS. But anyways, I don't know. It's just weird!

My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

Thanks for the kind words gemma! My biggest pet peeve with hearing women is that they don't graspt the concept that just because they increase the volume on the TV or Movie or whatever it is, or they talk louder, does not increase my chances of understanding it by much. It is more or less...

My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

Well, I'm not even really looking for a deaf girl to date, more or less just one to befriend. Not sure I'd be comfortable talking to dudes about the same things I would talk with a woman. It really sucks because there were a couple of girls I absolutely love/adore but for some reason I couldn't...

Don't forget 'Sweet Nothing in My Ear' starts in 30 minutes!

I've been a CI User since 2001 and it was the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. I was 18 at the time and my parents gave me the option on what I wanted to do. I suffered a concussion in a fight which led to the complete loss of my hearing to the point where my hearing aid didn't...

    Would you or wouldn't you?

All I have ever dated are hearing women. I am 25 now, and really doing a lot of soul searching in my life as a deaf person, although I have a cochlear implant and can hear pretty good with it, I'd like to befriend a deaf woman for once, just as friends at first then see what happens!I'm not...

My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

Gemma, where's your home state at? I believe long distance relationships can work to a point. Basically, I'd be satisfied with talking to a single deaf girl in my age group online just on a friend basis. I'd feel uncomfortable talking to a deaf dude probably. It would just be nice to have...

    Tax Breaks for the Deaf?

I don't want to be treated any differently, but there are many things deaf people have to purchase to assist them in doing business or living life easier so I'll take any help I can get. If it is there, why not use it?

My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

Being a business owner, I can't travel much :( I just figured online would be a much more convenient way to at least chat with someone and get to know some deaf girls. But apparently its not. Thanks for the welcome by the way. I just put a picture of me up in the Picture thread of one...

My view on deaf/hearing relationships and what should I do?

So, I'm new to this forum although I browse occassionally. I'm a fairly intelligent 25 year old from Indiana. I have been deaf all of my life, however I used hearing aids when I was younger, and now I have a cochlear implant since 2001. I have never ever had a deaf person for a friend. I went to...
