Would you leave your car running at 7-11?

I was inclined to leave my keys in my car in Europe all the time. But right now, I'm in America. I got a new car and it was stolen in less than a week. I had learned a lesson the hard way. I had formed the habit of taking the keys with me and left my car locked. Grrr.

    Animals Want Happiness Too

Levonian, what did they did to the animals is inhumanely unethical. But those animals were caged in the factory farms, am I right? My health-conscious friends took me to a few free-range farms and the animals resided in there were excessively healthy and happy. Unlike the factory farms and its...

    Edit feature?

Hiya, how do I edit my post? I just realized I made a typo in my post and I'd like to correct it. Immediately after my post, the edit button was there but I was in another thread to respond and then came back, it's just disappeared. Or am I hallucinating?

    Stupid question

I already tried and it wasn't exactly workable. Wherever I was, I was still able to hear the noises and voices. The noises and voices are certainly diminished but not enough to block figuratively everything to be in a deaf person's shoes. :(

    Stupid question

Superb analogy. While I may never be able to walk in a deaf person's shoes, with your analogy my ability of understanding what being deaf feel like grows exponentially.

    Jesus was a communist

Hi, I'm an Ayn Rand conservative. With that saying, politically-speaking, I've always believed Jesus was in a socialist-leaning view more than anything else. But was Jesus a communist? I highly doubt so. Dennis is correct in technical-politically term of Jesus' political stance. And plus to...

Best way to learn ASL? Hints, Ideas, Opinions?

NFGTragedy, I was planning to make a new thread but this thread is similar as mine. Instead of making a new thread, I posted in here. I hope you don't mind. Quite the captivating thread! Well, I tried to ask a deaf student in my class in which and how to learn ASL. I even asked him to...

Immersion in Deaf Culture and ASL

I'm not interested in becoming an interpreter but I'm interested in learning how to sign ASL or learn more about deaf culture. What do I need to immerse myself in the deaf community and learn their culture? And how?

    Stupid question

I'm a hearing person and I have a stupid question I'd like to ask. The thread has presumably been done to death but I wonder what does being deaf feel like? It's incomprehensive for me to picture how it feels like. I hope I didn't offend any deaf members around here. As I mentioned in my...

    Dum dee dah dee dum!

Hiya! I'm a foreign-born exchange student and wild girl. Given my mother's position, with a few paper work, I became American and fell in love with America's lifestyle -- especially New York City and Hollywood. I pop in here for a reason: I was fascinated by an interpreter who had...
