Got my new hearing aids today

The Battery Draw holds your battery. If you buy the DAI from Connevans, you will get the battery draw and the boots. They will even give you a tool so you can pop the pin out to remove the silver battery draw. Now keep in mind, I had a friend of mine in England get it to me and was able to...

    How are you feeling today?....

You always listen to what people tell you? If I was cold from an A/C and someone told me it wasn't going to be turned off until next month. I'd pull the plug from the wall, remove a breaker from the electrical box, whatever it takes to turn the damn thing off.

Got my new hearing aids today

Yes, I do love mine. The day I got my Naida Q50 UPs and some modifications I've done to them. My audiologist was able to get mine for $738 for the pair and my insurance (Medicaid) paid for it all. So getting them for $850 is a deal. Just make sure you change your filters on your Q50s every...

    Ear plugs

Just keep your hearing aids on an turn them off. That's what I do. Our hearing aids acts like ear plugs with them in your ears. I used to work as a bouncer in my early 20s and I always was placed in front of some speakers. I turned off my hearing aids and use my hearing aids as ear plugs.

    Building my next Gaming Rig.

I am in the process of building my next gaming rig. I have built quite a few computers in the past with the exception of my last computer. But I'm old school, back to the old days of IDE Master/Slave setup. This new route I am going SATA and using SSDs. 5 years ago, I had the funds to get an...

    Hard of Hearing in College

As someone who went to a RIT/NTID and ITT Tech as a HoH guy. Why bother making an attempt? You are really there to learn and get an education. Just finish school. They are young, childish and immature. They see your hearing aids as a bad thing. Image is everything to young stupid college...

Phonak Q50 up or phonak ix up

<-- Proud Owner of Naida Q50 UPs. My audiologist was able to get them with my Insurance (medicaid) for $738? if I remember. But I have no clue what they cost Retail. I am going to assume medicaid/medicare go by different pricing than someone coming off the street to buy them.

Gaming headset for hearing aids user?

As a person who plays games every now and then, I used the old style headphones and just a year ago started using DAIs. You will never ever find anything better than DAIs. My DAIs are programmed to my hearing aids that when connected, the microphone is muted and the clarity is amazing. I can...

    Benefits of Netflix?

I use Netflix for old shows that I want to watch from Season 1 Ep 1 to the last Ep of the Season. It was also great to get me caught up on The Walking Dead. As for new movies that comes out, I use redbox. Only rent what I want to see and then I'm good. There are times I go weeks without...

Naida Q50 UPs and Direct Audio Boots

I love them!! In the end I changed around a few programs and did some tweaking. While the EasyFM setting was interesting, it was more of a pain in the neck than not. So I opted to manually select the option of connecting directly to my audio boots. I'd have something playing on the...

    Hearing schools

I went to a hearing school from Kindergarten to the day I graduated from HS. Once I started middle school, I had a note taker in the back of the classroom taking notes for me. In case I might have missed certain information in the classroom that I didn't catch. You do not want to be in...

Will the Midwest and Northeast have a colder than normal winter?

As someone who lives in Western NY, I can't wait til winter. Our summers are usually hot and muggy. This year, it has been very cool. No high humidity. I expect it to be really cold this year. Another Polar Vortex. ChicagoBlue, You make me laugh. You are worried about a little snow...

Naida Q50 UPs and Direct Audio Boots

I wish I could use the DAIs with my home phone. But they don't have a 3.5mm jack connection. I think that would help with the clarity better. I like the idea that the DAIs can be connected to the cellphone. Do you have your hearing aids microphone set to mute so you can focus on the call...

Naida Q50 UPs and Direct Audio Boots

Oh thousands times better and more clearer. As a matter of fact listening to music right now. hehe I love the fact that it's part of the hearing aids and locks in. Unlike the old audio boots I had that just attach to the aids. Removing them from the aids is so easy, I don't have to worry...
