    People are shouting at me

If your aids are new then you may just need to get used to them. If they're not new then you need your audi to adjust them.

    Hearing Aid complaints

I think I'm very fortunate that I have the audiologist that I have. And I know I could probably go elsewhere and get the same aids for less, but I don't because of the relationship and trust I have developed with this particular audiologist. But when I buy new aids and it's time to pay and he...

I especially like the tuning fork test. (do they still do that). "Which ear do you hear this out of" "What?"

    Does anyone know?

Check out Clearsounds CLA7BT. I think the Artone MS might be something else you can look into but I hear people say more positive things about the Clearsounds product. I have the CLA7BT on order. With my profound loss I figure it will be a good test. It has a microphone attached to it, but...

If you would say that listening to music is one of your hobbies or interests...

I have a music program on my aids. I would think that headphones either over the aids or without the aids is just asking for trouble.

Can't hear, can't sign either - social outcast!

My hearing loss was first detected in the third grade and has gradually declined since then. Now in my mid 50's my loss is profound, but having grown up in the hearing world I don't know sign language. People tell me I should try to learn it now, but everyone I know can hear so who would I...

anyone else not like wearing HA in public?

Well your childhood experiences although traumatic and unfortunate seems to have spilled over into adulthood. Don't be embarrassed or apologetic. Kind of weird that old friends, if they are friends, would just stare at the aids and not mention them. But if they were walking away making...

anyone else not like wearing HA in public?

Usually, if you need to wear hearing aids, then the only person you were fooling in the past, was yourself. The average is about 7 yrs for an individual to finally admit that they have a hearing problem and to finally buy hearing aids. Prior to that everyone who you associate with already knew...

    Smartlink and FM Successware

Alice I understand that, but the question is whether the FM successware is a better way to set this whole thing up. I mean will it make some kind of difference. The FM sound quality right now is awful, especially on FM only, sounds very garbled. Does the FM successware program make some kind...

    Smartlink + Bluetooth

I am trying the smartlink x and after 8 hours I still had 2 of the 3 bars on the screen showing the battery charge. At that point I gave up and just put it back on the charger, because I had found out what I needed to know.

    Update on my son

Sorry to hear your daughter may now be experiencing problems. But I am glad to know your son is doing so well. Why is it that the child who behaves so well in school never comes home?

    What do you carry daily

Batteries, cellphone, and if I decide to purchase the smartlink then I guess I would be lugging that around too.

    Closed Captioning on CBS lately

Fox 8 in N.E. Ohio is so bad it's insulting. I contacted the station and they have done nothing about it. Maybe I should contact the FCC.

    Smartlink + Bluetooth

Leaving bluetooth turned on had no effect what so ever on how fast the smartlink battery drained.

    Smartlink + Bluetooth

That's probably what I will have to do.

    Smartlink + Bluetooth

My audiologist has implied that putting the Smartlink into bluetooth mode can be a huge drain on the smartlink battery. I already know I can get about 10 hours from my smartlink battery, without recharging if the smartlink is not in bluetooth mode at all. Although I don't get a lot of calls on...

    Smartlink Problems

Maybe I need to make myself clearer. When I said I don't know what a huge drain means I meant how much faster then the normal 8-10 hrs it takes to drain the smartlink when bluetooth is not engaged.
