I'm not disputing there was a oil-crisis or gas lines or out of gas. I'm just relating to my experience that I didn't see any of that.

That might have happened where you were, but it didn't happen where I was. I grew up in Southern Missouri and never saw any gas line or out of gas. A friend of mine told me he never saw any gas line or out of gas in Dallas, TX also.

I've been through the 70's and I have never seen any gas crisis back then. I was 10 years old when that happen. No lines, no gas shortage, nothing. I do really believe that people panic and started filling up cars all the time at where it was happening. Even right after 9/11 people panic...
