I am aware of that, yes. I dont thino w7 fixed the wei rating, it merely increased the maximum possible rating from 5.9 to 7.9, how it calculates the index remains the same. You can find out if you use a laptop that gets below 5.0 points in vista will get the same point in w7.

On XS we were trying to find out how MS evaluates your computer -- ie, what does it measure and how, so we had a whole bunch of people putting up their WEI and their system specification. Turns out that it was wildly inaccurate (obviously, but now we had solid proof) -- some systems that had CF...

Wow, the fail is strong in this thread for those arguing back and forth about the prebuilt. There are some people who dislike the hassle of building their own PC, and plus, they want to have warranty and technical support. This is where OEMs make their money; service and custom-designed (forgot...

5770 is about equal to 4870, which matches or beats the GTX260 in games with heavy AA. Don't knock the 5770, GDDR5 memory can pull some crazy bandwidth.

Not bad. Voltage is a little bit low, but if it is stable at that voltage and speed (as in, passes Prime95 with no failure or BSOD) and does not go past 55C max temp, you're good to go. :)

It's in CoreTemp or hwmonitor. Load temperature = running Prime95 and monitoring temps. If the CPU is at 100% and temperatures are higher, that is load temperature.

Don't you have homedepot nearby? You could buy like 3 square foot of washable filters for like $5.

Pretty much anything can be used as a dust filter. Home depot has a lot of cheap filters that you can use as dust filters. EDIT: that screenie you provided, was that idle temps? Idle temps mean nothing. It's the load temps we're interested in.

So you're going to trust the reviews of one guy that doesnt know how to review products over the words of countless people who have successfully used a H50 on their AMD systems? Ah hell, never mind then. Yes, use coretemps, figure out what temps you get. It should not go past 55c under...

Normally, yes, but those phenom processors can take a lot. Max voltage is 1.55. Beside, processor lives are so long that you'll be replacing them with faster processor long before the CPU dies from overvoltage. Think 10+ years. Anyway, set vcore to 1.5, 20x200 for 4.0 GHz. Then use Prime95 or...

Pish, it's downright easy. You have a black edition processor, just set the multi to 20x200 and the vcore to 1.50 and stress test. If stable, then bring the vcore lower. If you recently bought the processor, then likely it's a C3 revision, which should be able to achieve 4.0 without breaking a...

Medi-cal insurance question on hearing aids

I have medi-cal. Recently, my hearing aids (both of them) stopped working. One of them now whistles even when it's on, and the other simply refuses to turn on, even with brand new batteries. Granted, those hearing aids were more than 5 years old (I know, I know :aw:) and buying new hearing...
