I am still learning to use this CI (Newbie). But TODAY I realized that I can hear better holding the cell phone up to my ear, rather than use the iPhone app. Tomorrow this may change. Everyone still sounds like they are in witness protection.. :)

I have always had to luck to pay for them out of my pocket. (insurance would not cover them) That being said, the last pair was a "made for iPhone" and I love the way they streamed calls. Only way I can talk on a phone.

Impressed and I know that this one out of a whole industry. I know that for most this is fairly new technology and I see often people who have no clue about it. But are C.I.'s becoming mainstream enough for toys? (I see this is out of the UK)

I have almost the same problem. Your ENT SHOULD have recommended that you see a cochlear implant specialist for a consultation. After some tests they will advise if you are a candidate for one of their procedures. ENT's should ALWAYS give you options. FWIW, I am scheduled just before...

Mike, just curious. Which one do you prefer? Do you wear one (since you have one of each) for different occasions/reasons? Thinking about doing the same thing later this year...
