Former White Sox Slugger Frank Thomas elected to Hall of Fame

I was happy to see Maddux, Glavine, and Bobby Cox all get inducted. I grew up a huge Braves fan (while my dad was a Phillies fan, made for fun ribbings.) I stopped watching baseball around 2004 because of all the rampant steroid abuse and have little interest in the sport today. Now that I...

    Deaf, hearing relationships

Personally, I'm the same way. I don't create/send emails, but I do reply to them. It's mostly because I tend to not be a communicative person unless motivated by the other person to do so. I have a feeling that the guy you're talking to is probably the same way. Not used to communicating...

Passersby Struck by Car Amid Comic-Con Zombie Walk

For one thing, people should know better. Getting near a car that is moving or plans on moving is a sure way to get hurt. For another, hopping on the car and goofing off like that with a family inside the vehicle is just asking for trouble. Finally, the parade needed to be better organized...

There'd be a mass exodus of epileptic sufferers as they try to find other sites to socialize on. Meanwhile the rest of us would have to put up with lolcats. :eek3:

    Apple Cider Vinegar by Bragg

I use that ACV brand, too; didn't realize a lot of people were familiar with it. I mostly use it when I make salad dressings or for certain Asian dishes. It's great, although it can go bad quicker than other vinegars, so storing it in the fridge helps slow down that process. As a kid I...

    How are you feeling today?....

Ocean water does wonders for my skin, as well. It'd be interesting to know why exactly it seems to be so good for our skin. All the salt, metals and minerals in it, I guess, gets absorbed or something? I'd love to live near the beach, even if my pale skin would blind everybody and cause...

I'm pretty sure Facebook doesn't allow animated GIF, for either your profile photo or to insert into posts. You can link to one, but that's about it. I've never heard of converting a GIF to an AVI, either. One's an image format, the other is for video. It might be possible with specialized...

    Wonder woman !!

Eh, I'm not sure ... she doesn't seem Amazon enough to do the Wonder Woman thing, in many pics she looks scrawny. Maybe they'll have her bulk up a bit and make her seem taller and Amazonian in the film. I thought Famke Janssen would do a good Wonder Woman, she's about 6 feet tall. Or Tricia...

    Saying Hi and About Me

Yeah, I know there's been quite a debate about the whole who qualifies and applies to certain specialist schools. I remember being appalled when I was told that I wasn't deaf or blind enough to go to the famous Florida School for the Deaf & Blind in St. Augustine. I mostly wanted to go because...

What are you doing right now?

Yikes, hope nothing bad happens there. I was in the house I'm in now when a tornado uprooted the huge tree right outside and the tree landed on the house, puncturing a hole through the roof and ceiling. Very scary, and loud, even without my aids in. The water damage was extensive. :(

Best Deaf Cell Phones? Samsung Galaxy Note II is one!

The S5 would be a little easier to carry than the Note 2 or 3. I have large hands and found the Note 3 to be pretty big and it'd require both hands to operate. It's more a phablet, being that it's between being a phone and a tablet, which makes it ideal for video chat and signing while still...

annoyed with newbies and starting useless threads

Registering just to solicit for marriage proposals right off the bat does seem pretty odd. I thought the guy needed to polish up his sales pitch quite a bit to be effective. A minimum post count to create a new thread would definitely solve that problem. Along with any other drive-bys.

What are you doing right now?

I tried the scanner method but the one I have takes way too long, about a minute per photo. It'd take forever that way. The quality isn't that much better over using a camera either. It is old, so a newer model might do better but I can't afford that just yet. Down the line I might be...

Best Deaf Cell Phones? Samsung Galaxy Note II is one!

No, it doesn't. I should've clarified that I'm HI, so I need my phones to be able to go very loud and be clear to help me. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using AllDeaf App mobile app

Best Deaf Cell Phones? Samsung Galaxy Note II is one!

I got the HTC One M8 last week instead of the S5 because it sounded better to me (call quality and music) and I like the metal body. However I probably would've been happy with the S5, too. It's a great high end phone that can do it all. For deaf people I would think the large screen on the...

    Saying Hi and About Me

Yeah, I'm not sure if it'd help Foxrac, but it'd be awesome if something could help out because I certainly know how much it sucks to have your vision deteriorate and having to deal with it on top of terrible hearing. One impediment is one too many, if you ask me.

Where are the captioned movie trailers?

Nice, I've been meaning to find a way to discover more quality Asian films but never could find a site with good recommendations. I'm adding many of the ones you listed to my To Watch List. I wish Netflix had a greater foreign selection too, but I can see why they'd have a hard time...

Pics of you - Part V

It's a trick of the lighting and an old scar I picked up as a baby. If I got into a bar fight, the Jamaican who owned the place would've handed me a chill-out brownie.

What are you doing right now?

Taking a break because I've been spending the past few hours taking digital photos of old analog, physical pictures. The past few days I've been converting old, analog photos that are stacked in multiple boxes and converting them into a digital format so the future generations will have access...
