What did you do today? Part II

Slept in today. Didn't have to get up before the sun for fasting lab tests. Already got lab results in email; good results, so YAY, me, LOL! :laugh2: Finishing up my computer stuff I do most days. Set up some phone #s in my phone book on the new Captel phone, as well as learning other settings...

    CapTel phones (or similar devices)

It was an easy set up for the tech person because I already had a network set up for my wireless hard drive backup system, so I just had to sign the phone onto the network, and it was set! :aw: She did the plugging in & such, set up the software activation on the phone, did a test call, showed...

    Getting knocked at door.....

I can recognize them (dressed in churchy dress-up type clothes ) so I avoid answering the door if I see them coming up the driveway. :giggle: One time, though, they surprised me and what I did *not* like is they lied about who they were, using words to make me think they were associated...

    CapTel phones (or similar devices)

I paid $99, fully refundable if I don't like it during 30 days trial period. I don't know how it is set up. The CapTel representative from the workshop came over and hooked it up for me. :P I had to provide my password to my network for the computer so the phone can access the internet (you...

What are you thinking about? Part V

Thinking there is 'way too much dependency on computers and not enough hard copy sometimes, for backup for when the computers screw up...:hmm:

What did you do today? Part II

Got up 'way too early for fasting blood work. :eek3: And then some of the authorizations weren't in the computer so wasn't able to get all the lab work done. At least some were there for some of my doctors and an upcoming CT scan next week, so it wasn't a wasted trip for me. But I didn't get as...

    CapTel phones (or similar devices)

Just got my new Captel 840i installed yesterday after a workshop presentation. I love the captioned built-in answering machine! And so far the captions are fine for incoming and outgoing calls. Seems to be working smoothly on my computer network to access the Net for the captions. Love the...

    Last Movie You Watched?

"The Ides of March" (2011) directed by George Clooney, starring Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti. Very sad realistic drama about politics and the selling out of one's integrity that happens. Well done and well acted, IMO. :)

My sister's getting her wisdom teeth out tomorrow!

I had mine all out at once, too. My dentist sent me to an oral surgeon and I was totally under as well. Afterward I remember being drunk on Percocet for pain :laugh2: and sitting on the bed writing Christmas cards... :giggle: Had it done on a Thursday, and back to work on Monday. :P

What did you do today? Part II

Yesterday went to a Captel internet phone workshop sponsored by our local Deaf Advocacy agency. Ended up getting one! So awesome! Now I can answer my home phone again after over a decade, and get captioning without anyone having to dial any special #. Awesome! And the Tech who gave the workshop...

What are you thinking about? Part V

I quit in 1980 through the program Smokenders. Cost a bundle and was not covered by health insurance. I was pregnant with our daughter and tried to quit cold turkey after smoking 2 packs a day for a long time. Couldn't do it. There were no medical programs with drugs or patches or any of that...

Hmmm....so late? Sept. 3rd? WOW! :( I checked the ABCFamily web site and their FB page. Nothing there except "coming soon" still. Crossing my fingers for Sept. 3rd, then! :P

What did you do today? Part II

Took Mika dog for a ride in the car, to the post office to drop off a Netflix dvd, and then to the library to drop off due books & movies. Then we walked around the library neighborhood. A *very* happy dog! :D We haven't walked for a long time due to my arthritis flare-ups and my sore foot. It...

    Last Movie You Watched?

No one else seeing/watching any movies? Watched "Our Idiot Brother" (2011) last night. I thought when it started out it would be just too stupid humor, you know? But it was instead funny as well as heart warming. Not original thinking, but just a fun sweet movie about how our...

What is your favourite book and why?

Hard to choose as I'm an avid reader. :P For spiritual: Shunryu Suzuki's "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind." For fiction, maybe Tolkien's Hobbit & Lord of the Rings? ;)

Tarot Cards, Runes, Palmistry, Tea Leaves, Psychics etc.

I read Tarot for myself. Otherwise, no. I believe there is something to it all, but I trust my own insight and intuition more than a stranger. Plus I don't have $$$ to spare for such. I am a do-it-yourself-er as to my spiritual practice. :P I have several decks I like, even a Buddha deck. The...
