    "Turn your Hearing Aid up!"

Actually, I told that person, the next time I come, I'll bring my hearing dog so the dog will nudge me when I'm being called from a distance. He never heard of a hearing dog and asked me if I really had one or if there's such thing. No, I don't have one but I could get one if it's that important...

    "Turn your Hearing Aid up!"

Is it nice for a boss to tell you to turn your hearing aid up in front of workers. The workers laughed of course. That's embarrassing. Perhaps a hearing dog would help.

Training materials for me by me?

I've, as a severely hard of hearing, gained some talent in a large corporation and I'm wondering ADA applies to materials to help me train others how to use a workflow I've designed. The best way I can teach others how to use Photoshop (image editor) and it's workflow is to use a "screen...

    Workmates skipping relay

What the best way to explain others that we , too, want to be part of the work envoriment? How do you explain that you would like to be included in important workflow information by having them to make an effort to use the relay system. If the ADA requires that the deaf via relay should get a...

no tdd at the second location

"it taaaakes tooooooooo longggggggg", they say or "I didn't understand that relay". I'm concerned that the relay are hiring zombies or work out of India. It's important that the relay speaks loud and clear rather than working in boredville

no tdd at the second location

AIM offers free phone number just for you. One calls your number, "fire" pops up on screen while you're in the middle of something and awake for you to say hello. AOL offers relay through AIM. Free number! Can someone tell me how to make AIM pop up like that?

how can I grow in my workplace?

Or perhaps I should get the former deaf Ms Americaa, The former deaf Hulk, the famous deaf actress, the first deaf land speed breaker, that deaf body builder woman and (who else did I leave out and who are their names?) to get together and build a case to educate super large companies on how the...

no tdd at the second location

I have a tdd in my office and access to AOL's relay system. Once in a while my boss would ask me to help out others at another location. That other location is tddless. If asked again, shall I say , "No, I can't help out to guys, theres no tdd"? Or shall I go and say, " next time, please have a...

how can I grow in my workplace?

I read through the ADA papers years ago and found them very interesting. I've always thought about what I've read and use it as my guidelines to what I think a company should do when working with me. I rarely bring up anything regarding to ADA as it sounds like a threat if I do bring it up. Its...

    Ssi . .

I've always grown up around hearing people, I'm wondering if I might need proof that I'm severe-profound hearing person. An expert could tell by my accent. Does the government sometimes require proof of HOH? How can I get tested to prepare myself for the SS offices? Presbyter

    Ssi . .

I'm wondering if I might fall in the deaf category. I may be considered severe-profound hearing loss in both ears. On my hearing chart, I think the first point starts at 70 db at the lowest freq on the test papers and goes off the chart before or at 1000 freq. What does that make me in terms or...

    Relay Privacy?

Relay Privacy? I read that the relay employees are not allowed to share relay conversation with others or they will be fired. Most know that. During reading about it, it comes to my surprise that even the Police or the FBI can't access relay conversations from the relay services nor listen...
