    Do you believe in God?

Sure. I believe in a Supreme God. I'm not sure if there are other gods who are more personal manifestations of this one, or are glorified spirits. I'm somewhere between being a inclusive monotheist and monolatrist, I think.

    Belief 'O' Matic

Mine tends to come up with Sikhism 100%. Unfortunately I don't want to become a Sikh; I don't want to have to grow a beard or change my surname. I always get neopaganism quite high, too, but I don't believe in magic. Bleh. :D

Eugenics in this modern day and age

Totally. I nearly choked on my dinner as she said that.

Eugenics in this modern day and age

They covered this a few weeks ago on a Deaf TV programme called See Hear. It was very informative but some of the people on it (especially one of the people who supported the bill) were very offensive. She said, I quote. "Would you want to deliberatley deprive a child of hearing Mozart? I...

    Son of God

I find this to be quite an interesting phrase. I don't see it to mean that Jesus is God, but instead it appears to be more panentheism, or pantheism--that the universe is (partially in) God (or that the universe is God. I myself prefer the latter). This is interesting because it is also one...

Are you happy with your deafness?

I'm 50% deaf in my right ear, 20% in the left. I'm not satisfied with being hard of hearing. Personally I would rather be Deaf. My ears have hurt me on-and-off since I was born and when I didn't have hearing loss my ears were so sensitive. Even now some sounds can really hurt my ears which...

Okay I figured out my problem!!

I'm a hard of hearing person, myself. I went to the local deaf club on Thursday evening and I was quite intimidated by the lightning-speed hands flying everywhere, but they were very kind. Your best bet is to try and learn some sign language, you could probably start on the internet or a local...

    Son of God

From what I can see, the language used for Jesus as 'son of God' could go two ways; it could be either "God", or "servant of God". Check out Jesus as the Son of God - notice "sons of this household" for example. Before, I would have definitely said Jesus was God, now I'm not sure and I'm...

    Root Canal

Yup. Couldn't talk because he had his hands in my mouth (as well as being numb from injections), and I have a problem with my tongue, where the bit of skin at the back is very close to the front, so I have to keep my tongue down as well or he could rip it. He's scratched it a number of times...

SEE: "has become extremely popular in the schools"?

jilio, what do you mean "False"? To which part? I've heard SEE is decreasing on various anti-SEE or pro-ASL only websites. Am I wrong that it's decreasing? I don't have any problem with people using SEE, but I wouldn't learn it as it's a lot more work to have sign English and to have to sign...

    International Sign Language

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but, what do you guys think of "International Sign Language", also known as Gestuno? FENGYE DEAF WORLD-Sign Language Dictionary Indigenous signs: cities Do you think it will always be doomed to die a slow death? I think the idea of international...

    Korean Sign Language

Interesting video. Korean Sign and Japanese Sign are very similar because of the annexation of Korea way back when, if I recall correctly. The American Sign letter "T" is a rude gesture in Japan, I think it might be for Korea too.

SEE: "has become extremely popular in the schools"?

Modern Signs Press, Inc. - Frequently Asked Questions date copied 2008-01-30 Does anyone know how true this is? I thought SEE usage was supposed to be decreasing, not increasing. Also, I'm curious to see a website on "learn SEE"; I can't find any. I'm really curious about how they sign...

    Christianity: Long lifespans

Wiki has an interesting bit about the lifespans, "Noah died 350 years after the Flood, at the age of 950, the last of the immensely long-lived antediluvian Patriarchs. The maximum human lifespan, as depicted by the Bible, diminishes rapidly thereafter, from as much as 900 years to the 120 years...

    Root Canal

Hope you get a good settlement! What he DID do, was give me a filling, put too much, and it fell into my mouth, which stuck in there and I had to swallow it (that stuff is gross), and he didn't notice!!!! That was all that time ago. Now I have no tooth there! Boo!

    I "need" hearing aids

Don't know about any support group. :-/ I'll have to check up on it. I would be able to continue my university course with the university, but I would struggle and at the end of it, I would almost definitely not get a job teaching, so I'm thinking it'll be an extra year of another course which...

    Deaf culture - do's and don'ts, etc. Let's make a list!

Seems as though because people are Deaf it's okay to throw pencils, pens, blunt or sharp knives, pieces of raw chicken, probably including compost, stamp their feet, mess with hearing aids of cochlear implants, SHOUT REALLY LOUDLY, and O--VER---EM-PHA-SI---ZE THE WO----RDS WHEN THEY ARE...
