What's wrong with this?

My gut was telling me it was the boot too... we have to leave it now for the holidays as everything is closed. But I'm going to look into sending the boot away to get replaced. I'm just getting annoyed with these UP's - it has been one problem after another.

Yes but is it the aid or the FM? I have no idea? The FM works with the left ear - just not the right. It makes no sense? If the fm was broken neither would work. And if it was the aid why does it work normally on mic?

Okay... so we go to the dispenser again to activate the FM portion in Tyler's repaired aid... and she tells me it's already done ??? So... why would the aid not work with the FM if it's activated? The left ear works and the right ear works as well before I sent it away to get repaird...

So, we got Tyler his new Naida UP hearing aid yesterday - long story short, we got the actual UP's a couple weeks ago but there was something wrong with his right one... so we sent it away to get fixed. Well it came in and we picked it up yesterday. We also had a new ear impression mold done...

That's exactly what we just found out... Tyler's right ear - the SP is maxed out on most of the high frequencies. I was wondering that by being maxed out if there were distortion issues? Not to mention all the lost speech.

Have you ever tried or had the Naida SP? Wonder what you're comparing the UP to?

I know there's no change in features... but wondering what it's like to move from being maxxed out in SP and then moving to UP. Less distortion? The audi said Tyler's new aids in his right ear were not providing him with all levels of speech... which is why we are moving him to UP. Is...

Tyler had an appointment this morning with his audi to check his new hearing aids. We got new aids (Naida Super Powered) about 3-4 weeks ago. The super powered was recommended from another audi (long story). So the new audi today told me that due to Tyler's severe loss in his right ear...

Thanks for the info... I have contacted Tyler's SLP and suggested apraxia... I have also arranged an appointment with a pediatrician to discuss as well. What are the treatments for apraxia? Anyone know what I can do at home while waiting for appointments?

Tyler has a moderate/severe loss in his left ear and a severe loss in his right ear. He's had aided tests done and they appear to show him hearing within appropriate levels including some speech. So, then why is he not getting any consonents? Also how is it that some people are aided and...

I understand that... but then why is he able to listen and understand? His receptive language is only slightly delayed... he's doing awesome receptively. It's his expressive that's he's behind in... but the ASL is helping.

All the the professionals involved (audiologist, SLP, etc...) believe he is amplified correctly for his hearing loss. I can understand not hearing some sounds, especially high frequency sounds... but why can't he even repeat or mimic a sound/letter with a lower or mid range frequency? We say...
