    Some News, CI journey

I think whatever decision you make, and as a parent you are making the decision for your child either way (by implanting or not), you'll do what's best for your child. You mention that you see resentment (me too). But keep in mind whose resentment you are seeing: is it from those who...

    How to clean CI?

My daughter's processors get dirty, although you'd find it hard to tell as they are black. After she's been playing sports or in the mud/rain, I usually follow the dry nonabrasive cloth approach recommended, but I've also taken an alcohol-free wipe to the them if they are particularly dirty or...

ASL word order? ( and more :run: )

Hi! My daughter attends a school for the deaf -- the practice at that particular school is to use the teacher's name sign or less commonly to finger spell the first name, I've never seen them suggest Ms. or Mr. or Teacher in front of the first name. Not certain if that's typical.

Mom worried about her son's hearing

From your posts last year, seems that if your son was flagged for potential hearing loss in several newborn screening tests, failed the otoacoustic tests 4 times, and both then and now you feel that he doesn't respond to voices, just concussive sounds like barking and clapping, he might very...

    Implants and tinnitus

What kind of implants are you referring to? If CIs, no metal (or anything) is installed in the brain, no metal poisoning. No limits to sports activities. No box to be carried around.
