    ASL Idiom Book...

Here's an on-line resource with some expressions: http://www.aslpro.com/cgi-bin/aslpro/phrases.cgi Hope that helps. I do have a question----when someone signs that they are "fully deaf", sometimes they will use a non-dominant "S" with a dominant "five", thumb stuck into n-d hand and the...

Welcome! I hope you have fun learning a new sign language. It should not be too difficult since ASL gets some of its features from LSF. What part of France are you from?

    New RID test--is it passable???

I know several people who already had a couple of certificates who also sat for the NIC. I think if I had my CI/CT, I wouldn't even bother with the NIC. Maybe if I had an NAD and wanted to get a higher level...but really, I agree--why stress yourself out when you're already validly certified...

    New RID test--is it passable???

I took my written generalist test long ago, never passed either the CI or CT. I have post-traumatic stress issues and admit that although I am considered a competent interpreter, in testing situations I tend to be a "deer in the headlights." Needless to say I have been in counselling to...

Hello, Diesel Instructor could use advice

    hey yo sup?!

Captioned movies Hi, welcome! I get so frustrated with the lack of theaters showing captioned movies in my area! I've also noticed that people in wheelchairs have a hard time with theaters with stadium seating---attendants always want to seat them in the very front!!! Who wants to sit in...

Hello, Diesel Instructor could use advice

Some suggestions I have worked in many a vocational-technical environment as an interpreter. If the student uses sign language, best to have an interpreter, particular for safety instruction and classroom theory. You'd be surprised at how much easier that will make his life--and yours...

    New RID test--is it passable???

Great Subject!!! I just found this site---wow! Glad I'm not the only one with apprehension about the NIC performance. I took both the old and new written tests and passed with no trouble. I did not pass my CI or CT. I'm gearing up for NIC performance. I think the best thing I can do is...
