I picked up my new HA Monday

I just wanted to update everyone. I picked up my Phonak Cassia M H2O on Monday along with the Compilot. I love them!! I can hear much better and the sound is so much clearer. I heard a cricket for the first time in 25 years and music sounds much nicer now. I have also discovered that I hear TONS...

Compilot stopped linking to left HA!

I had a similar thing happen the other night while I was on my cell phone and my left ha stopped picking up the compilot. I ended up having to restart the HA, the Compilot and reconnect my phone before it worked again.

    Tattoos?

I have 9 of them. I have 5 Celtic ones on my left forearm which represents my Irish and Scottish heritage. On my right forearm I have the Sagittarius arrow with a spiral because its my sign. On my right calf I have Tigger lying on his side looking at a butterfly and above that the autism puzzle...

Yeah I'm really glad we went with the water resistance in case I get pulled into the pool. She did say I could swim with them on as long as I keep my head out of the water. I refuse to dunk my head anyways. I have had 6 sets of half skeleton molds in as many years (the Extras are 7 years old). I...

I agree, it is silly. She really wanted to fit me with something else but with my need for really good water resistance, we kinda got stuck. I just found out my 14 year old made the swim team too. He's autistic and I am afraid I might get pretty wet if he gets excited lol! She asked me if I...

The dispenser said that I would likely only get full benefit from the Cassias for a year or two (I average 5-10 db loss a year) but said she couldn't give me the next ones because insurance. I have been fine with the Extras and I'm hoping the Cassias are at least as good if not better. I am...

I just got back for the audiologist. I'm getting (no real choice here) the Phonak Cassia M H20 in blue ocean. They said my ears weren't "bad enough" for the Niadas and that my insurance wouldn't cover the Aquaris at all (Medicaid NY). I have to wait to see if insurance will even decide to cover...

I was looking at the Solanas and the Niada S III CRT ones and I like those too and they are supposed to be much more water resistant than the other Niadas

I tried the super seals before and I thought they made my ha sound crappy but who knows I will try them again. I have the dry and store and use it often since NY can get so humid.

I'm going to ask about the Naidas and the Aquaris. Is there any other that I should look into? How water resist is the NAida? I do sweat a lot in the summer and I have already shorted one pair of the Extras out due to sweat. Has anyone been in a soaking rain or really sweated on the Naida? Did...

I'm open to other brands just as long as my insurance covers them and they are water and sweat resistant. I have looked into some of the others ones but it confuses me because I really don't have much knowledge of the technology. This is the first audiologist I have had in my life that has told...

They said that I could only get 2 ha if I had significant sight issues or significant social issues and I gathered friends and family to write letters on my behalf and they finally said ok. Now they can't take the pair away because their rules say if you have had them for 5 years you will always...

I'll ask about maybe doing the payment plan for the compilot with the tv link. I like the ones I have but I shorted out one pair already due to sweating so I haven't been able to use them much in the summer. Before the Phonaks I had a Starkey A 13 in just my "bad ear" and I hated it. It took me...

I doubt my insurance will pay for the Aquaris and I know they won't pay for any FM or the likes. About how much do the compilots cost? I do like the Naidas and I think insurance will cover them for me. I go back Wed August 8 because we had to wait for prior authorization to even look into...

Hi guys! My audiologist told me I need to get new hearing aids because my current pair are getting old and they are starting to malfunction. I have a pair of Phonak Extra 311. She told me that at our next appointment we will be discussing what ones would be best for me. She told me to look at...

    Challenger Tragedy

I was in first grade. My teacher had gotten us very excited o watch the launch. We did all sorts of activities and then we turned on the tv. We watched the shuttle launch and we cheered. Then the explosion happened. The teacher just stared at the screen for a moment and then shut it off. She...
