Anyone know if this is available in the UK?

Try Connevans they have all kinds of useful stuff. Just google them.

How to listen to music, the best way?

Direct audio input is the best option, either with DAI leads or via an fm system. I use my Smartlink, but if you haven't got one I'd recommend using the DAI leads, they are much better than any t-coil method!

Just curious, what colour FM receivers should I get?

I have both direct input leads and ear hooks for listening to music and find direct input much better. The problem with ear hooks is that you have to get them in exactly the right spot against your HAs for the T-coils to pick up the sound, I find that when I get it right I only have to move...

Just curious, what colour FM receivers should I get?

I did indeed mean a colour which would go with most other colours, please not beige, I've had to put up with that for forty years courtesy of the NHS! As others have suggested black would be a good choice. If there is a fear that integrated receivers may not fit future Naidas of a different...

Just curious, what colour FM receivers should I get?

If you choose a neutral colour you could use them with future HAs. My Phonak receivers are still going strong after several years.

How can I get ear moulds to last more then a year?

I also have soft moulds with no vents. Generally my ear moulds last about a year but the one I am presently using in my right ear is much deeper in my ear canal and tighter in my ear, this mould has lasted longer. Also I live in Birmingham and they are quite happy to replace my ear moulds every...

wore hearing aids all my life... now 21

You really should go back to that hospital and complain. The NHS isn't usually that bad, I've worn HAs for over forty years and have never experienced any thing like that. I live in Birmingham and when I've taken one of my HAs in for repair they usually just replace it with another one the...

    Went to Audie this morning...

Don't worry too much about having surgery. I recently had ear surgery again and it didn't seem anything like as bad as I remember it being when I was a child.

    Deafness and simply being

I think that disliking conversations is a consequence of being deaf/HoH. Last night someone started a conversation with me and as they talked on I thought 'I hope this isn't going to last too long'. Having a long conversation with someone involves such alot of concentration and effort in...

Getting my CROS HA on the 27th!!

I'm sure you'll be fine, as Bott says, technology is streets ahead now compared with only a decade or so ago.

    Hating my naidas

    I've heard that advice too.

    Unsure how to help

Please can someone tell me what the term 'legally deaf' means. We don't use this terminology in the UK, so can someone explain what it means in terms of decibels hearing loss.

    Are my aids Streamer compatible?

How did you guys manage to get new HAs out of the NHS? I've had my Siemens Reflex DSPs for nearly four years now with no chance of an upgrade. Even if my hearing gets worse they'll just turn the volume up, apparently they're already amongst the most powerful aids available, so they won't be...

My new HAs | Oticon Spirit Zest C SP (Chili?)

I've found that if I don't open the battery drawers enough the HA stays on. Sometimes I've put one back in my ear in the morning and found it's already on, and has been all night. Maybe yours are the same.

My new HAs | Oticon Spirit Zest C SP (Chili?)

I believe they are the same thing. The NHS likes to change the names of hearing aids for some reason!

    T-Coil Earhooks

I find that I have to get my musiclink earhooks in exactly the right position against my HAs, otherwise I can hardly hear anything. I've even tried sticking them on my HAs with bluetack! I prefer to use DAI, but now there's a problem with one of the wires on that, so I'm still trying to...

options for the nurse with profound hearing loss

Good luck with your treatment, I hope it succeeds for you. I too have Siemens super power aids, bilaterally, and I think they are great. When I first got them I was also surprised by the amazing difference they made to my hearing. I had worn an analogue HA in my right ear since childhood...

    Color hearing aids/molds

Sounds great, I wish we had a choice of coloured HAs and moulds here in Birmingham. It really is about time NHS audiology departments entered the 21st century.
