I am thinking I need to get ready for my class in an hour. I also have to make sure I have my girls fed and cleaned up because I am still in class when they go to bed.

Overall I am generally a happy person. I am not sure if I would be any happier if I could hear perfect. I cannot use the telephone, I can hear the other person talking but I can't make out what they are saying, they could be speaking Chinese for all I know!:giggle: I rely on lipreading...

You got to keep your hearing aid on during surgery, I have never heard of that. I did wear my hearing aids during labor when I gave birth to my girls but not for any other procedure at the hospital. That is interesting to know. :)

Hi all, I need to start posting here more often. I am usually very busy during the week though. I also belong to another forum (not a deaf forum) so I spend time there. I am sad the week is finishing becaus I had this week off, I go back to my university classes on Monday.

I think I have residual hearing, but it is very muffled. I can hear without my aids but only things like semi trucks, super loud music, and if you scream directly into my ear. :)

I confess I am not cooking dinner tonight. Take out here we come! :)

I can hear pretty good with my aids on, but I hear almost nothing without them. I have always wondered about CI, and if it would help me hear even better than my aids do.

I thought I read somewhere that you no longer have to lose your residual hearing when you get your implants? Maybe I was dreaming that? :)

I never used to sleep with my hearing aids off when I was younger. After I had my first daughter (who is now 11) I started sleeping with one hearing aid on for fear she would cry and I wouldn't be able to hear her. So now 11 years later I still sleep with just one hearing aid on at night...

So your CI ear is way better than your HA ear right? Can you hear way more with your CI, are voices way better?
