if my memory serves me correctly, your second hard drive should be set on slave. There should be a jumper with an instruction on your hard drive. For IDE ribbon, just fiddle around with it until it works. I am not sure if I am missing anything right here, somebody correct me if I'm wrong or...

Basically you are installing a second hard drive, right? That can be a major pain in the butt! It requires master/slave configuration and correct insertion of IDE ribbons to get BIOS to reconize the hard drive. CD should have nothing to do with getting that hard drive to work.
