Anyone have any advice for a baby who fights sleep like it's poison?

    *Runs screaming from the room*

man bites his own penis off

I didn't even note that...how is that A MISDEMEANOR????? That baby will struggle with that for the rest of her life unless she learns some serious coping skills. What kind of judge was in charge of that case?

Audism Free America: Outcomes of the Historic Meeting and Rally

*Winces* Oh. Sterilization of deaf people??? Seriously? How wrong is that? This isn't now is it? I'm sorry to hear that such a potentially postive thing turned so wrong. I guess I'll research it, to try and make some sense of it. Maybe you and I could start our own insituation to help the...

    Offensive??

I'm sorry you have feel you have to tip-toe around the hearing. I have to say though, it wasn't until I started going deaf that I found out that the term 'hearing impaired' is a problem. That's just how all the 'hearies' refer to it. I'm not sure why. It seems that this has been going on a while...

Sorry, can't help you because I don't know them myself! But I will say welcome and hope you like it here!

man bites his own penis off

Good grief. But, have to say, I can't say I feel terribly sorry for him, after what he did to that little girl. He's not well, of course, goes without saying...but I don't really find that I justify that crime in any way no matter how sick you are.

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

No, I don't think I have a special problem with grammer. Of course, I don't always get it right, but I my 'disability' is not in grammer. I knew what you meant, by the way, and I think it makes perfect sense and is not at all unreasonable that people who are born Deaf or go deaf at a very early...

Why is it that relationships with age gaps seem to spark such fear in people?

*Laughs* That's sweet Baby Blue! I wish my husband was a little more playful like that, but other then that he's almost perfect.

Does anybody on here do repeative things when they go out?

I have a lot of anxieties for various and sundry reasons. I think my OCD is probably related to and may even be resultant of those anxieties. I don't deal so much with the complusion part (complusion is like the need to check and recheck your shoes, or wash and rewash your hands)...I have...

Why is it that relationships with age gaps seem to spark such fear in people?

*Smiles* This is true. It was just some curiousity on my part and a desire to vent about the world's over-opinated behaviors.

Bush-era interrogation memo: No torture without 'severe pain' intent

Jiro isn't bad. He's just explaining how it is from his point of veiw, which is just as valid as anyone else. Still, I don't think the eye for an eye thing works. It's strange because most of us try to teach our children that hitting back won't solve anything, and yet, we take on these less then...

    What are you thinking about?

*hugs to Jiro* Thanks! I hope so. There are days I doubt it, but then, there are days when I'm pretty sure I can. I suppose most have issues with our childhood, in some way or another. I just really hope to help my baby avoid that feeling!

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

Yes, I see what you mean. But, you know, I was born hearing, but I still had a language delay. In fact, I still stutter, and have all my life. So, in that sense, I do understand what it is not to be able to communicate verbally as well as I want to...but you are right, I see the difference. I...

    What are you thinking about?

Yeah, that's right. It's a bit like stage fright, only worse in a way, because it doesn't go away when you aren't on a stage. It's like this: Say I write a poem that I'm pretty proud of. Say I show that poem to you. You really like it, and get excited and ask me to write more. I get nervous...

    What are you thinking about?

*Big hugs for Jillio...again* Thanks sweetie. My ego does wonders when you're around. Seriously, I like to write and I wish I could get myself over that barrier of 'what if' but I never quite do it. Hopefully, though, never doesn't always have to be the present state of things. It's a pretty...

Bush-era interrogation memo: No torture without 'severe pain' intent

I'm not wanting to argue, but the third article of the Geneva Convention applies to more then soldiers. "Noncombatants, combatants who have laid down their arms, and combatants who are hors de combat (out of the fight) due to wounds, detention, or any other cause shall in all circumstances be...

Thanks for the encouragement though! You should SEE this horse!!!! I didn't know they make 'em so big! I can't touch his ears, and I'm 5 3 (not that I'm all that tall, but you know..)

    What are you thinking about?

*Turning a zillion shades of red* Yeah, but I'd have to get over my fear of sucess first. That, and my husband and the few others who have read my stuff might be just being kind...which I appriecate but which doesn't mean I'm any good. Never can shut my brain off...can you say ADD with a...

    What are you thinking about?

Thinking that I might write another poem, that I wish I had the nerve to try to get them published, and that I want to know how the heck the USA government thinks it can get away with torture when we've signed the Genvea Convention. I also wonder if Shrek (an enourmos white horse at my therapy...
