I still can't understand whisper, but it is still better than my HA because now I can hear whisper sounds when I couldn't with HA. But I still can't understand what the person is saying in a whisper. Maybe I will as I get more mapping. As each child, they have different range of hearing loss...

that you have a closer audiologist who can do mapping. I hate driving 3 hours just for mapping. I think we need to speak up on this because of growing number of people getting CI.

I was one of those people who wore bulky bodyworn hearing aids all through my elementary years. The teacher had to wear a microphone. Now that I have CI, I don't consider myself fixed and I still worry about nighttime when I can't hear, or when my battery goes dead at the wrong time...

I don't think it is right to judge what a parent feel is best. If I could make a judge, I would say it is cruel for any parents to send their kids away to a school for the deaf just because they are deaf. But I won't pass a judgment because I know that they feel it is the best thing to do...

The purpose of being a christian is to recongize that you are a sinner , That no one is perfect except the Lord and that only he can save you through Christ (they are one). You can't save yourself from good works like volunteering, giving away money, etc , thinking will make you a good person...

do you have a special license plate that shows you are deaf? Some states have that, it help EMTs and Police officers know that you are deaf. You have to have a written proof from a doctor, though.

There nothing wrong with parents believing in their children to do anything they want.

don't stop at the Deaf community; there are people on wheelchairs, blind, etc. who get stared at too.
