    Do you believe in God?

Sylvia Browne founded a spiritual organization called Society of Novus Spiritus, in April 1986. Novus is Sylvia's monument to God-with no fear, no guilt, no sin, no hell, and no Satan. You might as well throw out your bible. Novus Spiritus contradicts it in many aspects. One of God's...

    Digital Hearing!

I have over 90dB (profound) hearing loss in both ears. I wear hearing aids. My parents wanted me to consider the option of getting a CI. I was declined. Why? Because I was considered a high functioning deaf female. I never wanted a CI anyway, I'm happy with the way things are.

    Proud to be Disabled?

Don't make assumptions, I have THOUGHT about it. I do agree with you. I personally think that it is necessary to place people in categories. There are positive and negative aspects of it. Some people are a little sensitive when it comes to certain "titles" of these groups, such as Handicapped...

Is Animal welcome to house of GOD?

Interesting topic, I always wondered about this myself. So, I decided to check it out. I found this: Peace will pervade even the animal kingdom. It's in the Bible, Isaiah 65:25, NIV. "The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the...

    Proud to be Disabled?

No offence, but what does that have to do with Breezy's post. I think this individual was merely trying to point out Society's need to categorize people.

What does "oral deaf" actually mean?

I personally think you are doing your child a great service, by teaching him sign language as well as spoken english. Sadly there are not a lot of parents like that out there. My mother gave me a choice, and for that I'm grateful. I have my own identity, not one forced upon me. Although because...

    Do you believe in God?

I did not mean to offend you. I am not saying that non-Christians don't care about life, or are cowards, or are even going to hell (It is not my place to make that kind of judgement call). What I meant was that most people who sincerely seek God believe that something in their life is missing...

    Do you believe in God?

I've read all the posts, and would like to respond to the things that have been said. Those who seek God are wise enough to care about the big things in life and courageous enough to look for the answers. The Bible is considered the most remarkable book the world has ever seen. There are many...

When you were little girl or boy, What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a little girl, I wanted to get married, have kids, and be a nurse. Now I've got the hubby, twin girls, and I'm heading to Nursing school in a year. So far so good, don't you think.

    Abusive Relationship

My story isn't as severe as some of the ladies on this post. In my first year of marriage, my husband used to hit, throw me around, or back me into a corner and threaten me. I was in love with him, and wanted our marriage to work, for myself and my kids. The last time he hit me, was when my...

    Proud to be Disabled?

I consider myself disabled, there is nothing wrong with that. It's a blessing, I don't hear my husband snore at night :) The way I see it, I wouldn't be who I am today if I wasn't deaf. We see, "hear", feel, smell things from a different perspective. Exodus 4:11 'The LORD said to him, "...

    Oral

I just checked my charts. It looks like I am profoundly deaf. My mother taught me English Sign Language, and I took speech therapy at 2yrs old. I was exposed to both worlds. Age 5, I stopped signing, and even slapped my mothers hands when she tried to communicate with me. I didn't view myself...
